I used this drive as an upgrade to an old laptop, replacing a 2.5 HDD with this SSD. The difference in performance is obvious and this is such an easy and so efficient upgrade. It is so much faster! The parameters of the drive are the same, so to screw it in place of the old drive is very easy.

I bought and installed this in an old Sony Vaio laptop from 2010 to replace an old disk drive. Worked perfectly out of the box with massive performance boast when loading Windows. My only complaint is that PNY doesn't provide any free software for cloning/migrating your old drive to the new one, the one they offer you have to pay for which isn't great considering competitors offer that software for free, I ended up using a program called DiskGenius for that. Otherwise I'm happy with it, build quality is good, it's fast and works, that's all I can ask for.

This is a very stable SSD. I have many. This one is super good at boasting a snappy operation system. It also works the best with PlayStation other than Samsungs modle. So this is a very affordable option. Very pleasantly surprised with proformace stability!

This SSD worked exactly as advertised. It is unfortunate that it did not come with access to any drive cloning or partition management tools. (Open sourse tools took care of that - to use them you may need a USB thumb drive, and a working computer to set-up the utilities.)I have used them to upgrade an older HP PC from a conventional hard drive to the SSD, running Ubuntu 24.04, and an older Dell Windows 10 PC to upgrade from a smaller SSD to the 500GB SSD. No issues with either, using Clonezilla Live as the disk copying utility.I also purchased some power cables and sata cables, and mounting plates from Amazon to get the job done. Total cost/system was under $32.00!

Cloned with ease, to put in my 500gb Nvidia Shield. It helped to totally revive it to new condition. I have had a PNY in my computer for about 3 years as well and has proved to be reliable.

Depois de meu HD pifar de repente (5 anos de uso - cuidado) comprei um SSD de marca famosa; devolvi era falsificado, inclusive na embalagem com erros de grafia o que não aparecia na propaganda de venda. Resolvi então comprar esse de marca menos famosa mas bem avaliado. Deu certo.PS: O "famoso" era super bem avaliado, mas na Holanda, nos Estados Unidos, não o da Santa Ifigênia que comprei.Prestem atenção nas avaliações.

This works great for replacing the hard drive on my PS4. It is pretty fast for a budgeted PS4 drive. It is thinner in height compared to most 2.5 disk drives but it will fit in your ps4 without much issues. I has a standard aluminum case and I had no trouble installing it. I did want to see how this would perform on on both Mac and PC so I tried it with that first also was my way to test the speed. The drive was able to work without any issues. It did not require any additional software and it was just a plug in play (minus the initialization. It also fit the sata port pretty well. The only thing I would say if you are installing this in laptops with a holder is that you may need to hold it up slightly as it is thinner than your normal 2.5 disk drive but honestly it would not be too much of a difference in installation. You always need to initalize it even with external. I did want to test the transfer speed using a 3.0 enclosure and the transfer speed is not too bad which is good. There was no extreme heat up to an alarming. I did a memory verification just to be safe and the storage memory is correct so you can be sure your data is safe. The speed works pretty well for my ps4. The games load faster and the PS4 does not lag during intense cut scenes which is what I wanted. I test it against some other 2.5 solid state drives (Samsung and WD) as well as the Seagate Hybrid drive and it was not bad. It is pretty on par with the most brand solid state drives. It is definitely a good drive to use for an upgrade from a disk drive to a higher capacity and faster storage. Unfortunately with so many games being big files 1 TB does fill up pretty quick. I was able to transfer all the data from my old PS4 drive to my new one but it did take time to back up and restore everything. Overall I like this drive. It has been reliable and fast. I have not had any issues with it slowing down or failing.
