I was skeptical of the low price at first but once I plugged it in I was able to clearly listen to local FM & AM channels. I even was able to pick up a few shortwave broadcasts with this little thing! If you’re interested in learning about radios or even just want to listen to music for cheap this is a must buy. The speakers also sound very clear and can be turned up pretty loud.

Some of the other reviews here seem to leave out an important consideration in regard to this item, and that is price.This radio does have some cons that one should expect with an economic radio. The housing is a hard, plastic that is not going to survive a fall or weight on it. The dial operation isn't the smoothest. The slide selector is also clunky and likewise not the most durable.But, I believe this radio has more positives than negatives. It's lightweight and portable. It can be ran from two power sources . The display window just looks cool and cruising the stations is fun. Additionally, I like the precision an analog knob provides, but it also can drift, which others have found as a negative.The antenna is adequate, firm and folds down nicely.My one negative which I felt could have been different without significant cost increase is that the dial size. A flat dial that was as wide as the unit would have allowed easier tuning, or perhaps a dial that sticks out more. Given that the dial isn't the smoothest, a knob which gave plenty of grip would have been good.You're not going to want this to be your sole radio for your solo deep country camping or wandering. But it is a good choice for a supplemental radio, or as a gift for a kid who is just discovering an interest in radio.Overall, I don't think you could do much better for the price. I've so far found it reliable and fun to cruise the airways with.

Creating my emergency backpack and added this to it. Its a good find but a bit smaller than anticipated. Still great though.

This radio is excellent quality for the price. It’s small and easy to store in case of an emergency. What I really like about it is that it can either be operated by a battery or with a cable. This will be perfect in case the power goes out during a storm. It picked up many different radio stations in the surrounding area.

False advertising. The description at the top of the item says "plug in Wall or Battery Operated Radio for Home & Outdoor" The description below the item says the same....only it doesn't come with a wall plug....just a USB adapter. I bought it to keep it outside in our barn-- plugged in all the time. If I need to spend another $20 to buy a USB wall plug, I may as well buy a different radio that already has one. Honestly, who is going to plug a transistor radio into a USB plug for their power? This is inconvenient at best-- useless for what it was purchased for. This is not a plug in radio, it's a battery powered radio.

I must have received a different radio than some of the other reviewers.The one I received just doesn't work all that well.The tuning knob is so rough and hard to turn that if I got any channels to come in it was a shock.Shortwave reception is non-existent...Couldn't get any AM stations...FM pulled in one or two stations.Now, you have to understand that we live in a mountainous area that probably blocks a lot of the signals...but...I can get a bunch of stations on our other radios...so I suspect that this is just a low quality radio with a weak tuner.Man...that tuner knob is rough, too....not smooth at all.I was excited to mess with a radio this small and cheap that included the shortwave bands.Too bad it didn't work.
