The tool does what it is supposed to do but it's pretty cheaply built. I've already had plastic parts fall off that I've glued and taped back together. When you hit the button to apply power, it is very low amperage so it's not going to turn a motor or anything that needs much juice. The cable is long enough so you can attach it to the batter and then use it inside the car which is nice.

This is a nice power probe and the price is right. No complaints - works just like the real power probe; connect to battery and then you're ready to check for hot and ground continuity, as well as being able to send power or ground through the tip. Includes an always-grounded clip for testing stuff like lights in your hand instead of the vehicle.

I used this to help a friend test out his Honda. I found a few faults that helped us oin the path to fixing the issue. This was Extremely helpful and i would recommend it to anyone who works on cars and trucks. Truly a Godsend.

This is a nice little circuit tester and power probe. But like other reviews, this unit that I received does not have any power protection. I did not fry my meter or cause damage to anything - but that doesn't mean you can't accidentally cause an issue. I opened my unit up and there is no fuse or built in protection for the meter it self. You could short out the meter. However, due to the cost of this item, I'm still giving it 4/5. Similar units can cost up to 100 bucks or even more. For what you get, this is a nice little unit, but you have to be careful. I do wish the cable was a little longer. Its hard to plug it in to the battery directly and then connect to something in the car or near the rear of the car if that makes sense.

First if you do not know how to use a power probe, go look up some videos first.Secondly there is no protection and I accidentally fried the power side of the meter. There is no inline fuse, and I opened the meter up and there is no fuse or CB inside the unit either. I can smell the fried Circuit board. It's toast! The meter side still works, but I can now only test for voltage and not polarity nor can I apply power to a circuit. So if you are careful and don't apply power that would fry the meter, this meter is a nice cheap power probe for the DIY'ers. The cables are more than long enough for most trouble shooting or tracing down a fault and flexible. The read out is large and easy to see.Overall if it had better protection against dumb things, this would be much better power probe.

I found this low voltage tester to be of decent entry level quality. First off it does perform all the electrical testing functions that it claims, I use it in my RV for testing the 12 volt system, tracing wires and checking for short circuits. The LED voltage readout screen is easy to read, the battery clamps hold on to the terminals without pulling off at the slightest tug of the attached cable. The short lead makes it easy to check for polarity or continuity. The included instruction manual has some good graphics for many tests that can be performed with the tester, however, the English written instructions can be a challenge to interpret, if you like word puzzles, this could be a good challenge for you to make sense of them, if you are relying on them to guide you in a testing procedure it could prove to be a frustrating experience. The tester materials and build do have a cheaper feel to them, but with that said it is priced accordingly and does not claim to be of Fluke quality. In all the tests that I will use it for, it is adequate for low voltage readout and lights that indicate polarity, the buzzer does not work on mine, which would have been a good feature. I found this to be a decent low price alternative for simple circuit tracing on my RV, car and lawn equipment, but if I am testing circuits that it is critical to know their state of energization, I would not rely on this tester for that. I think it gets 4 stars if you are not expecting too much from it, and would get 3 stars if an upper quality, highly reliable tester is needed.
