Perfect reflexes illicited. The only thing is, it's head moves on a screw, so you'll have to tighten it from time to time. Apart for that, a perfect tool.

Worth the price, telescopic reflex hammer. Takes some getting used to because of the bending joint/head.Would have been good if a point/filament was included to test sensory input/pain.

Just got this product for use in making house calls. It folds up and easily fits in my doctors bag with no problems. It has a nice weight and heft to it. The quality is excellent. I would recommend it highly for any healthcare student or traveling healthcare profesional. Great price. I am very happy with my purchase.

The round hammer is on a joint so it can fold flat... but the joint is a little loose, and you can't tighten it further. So the hammer flops a bit when you're trying to test reflexes, you also have to swing it transverse to the joint, but it's hard to see where that is because it's round. So I end up swinging this hammer and it flops flat against the patient's arm because the momentum of the swing flattens the head... The extension is gimmicky... when it's so long, I can't swing accurately anyways (and don't forget the head flops around)The point on the other end is actually pretty sharp. Another student using this tool actually scratched the patient's foot testing for babinsky.I just got a simple fixed hammer after this.

Great product, portable and practical. Does exactly what you want it to, which is be extendable within a moment right before seeing a patient and folded immediately afterwards before slipping it back into your scrubs. Solid design, good thickness metal.Huge shout out to Dave for helping with the shipping, thanks to his help, we managed to change the destination from Canada to a local UK address I use and saved me almost a month in having to wait for it to arrive. 10/10 service.

It's a reflex hammer, what more do you want? The weighted end is nice and heavy, and can easily hang on an internal loop in a lab coat pocket. The pointed end is nice and sharp for eliciting babinski reflexes and (in my opinion) works fine for testing pain sensation. Good price too, if/when you wind up losing it.

This works quite well, haven't had the problem of the screw coming loose or anything like that. The only thing that happened that wasn't ideal was that the writing rubbed off of it, but it didn't matter much to me anyway. For a medical student who doesn't need to use a reflex hammer every day for the rest of their life, this is a great purchase, much better than the cheap orange hammer you would otherwise get. However, from what I read in other reviews, may not tolerate someone who uses their reflex hammers very regularly.

I purchase this telescoping Babinski hammer for a medical student that I know. This is a great quality product. The medical student was able to use this hammer for the entirety of her medical school career and it is still functioning well. The head of the hammer feels disproportionately heavier than the stick. She also loves that the hammer can be dissembled. She has the option to disassemble it and put it in her white coat pocket as she needs. One thing to watch out for is the pinprick portion of the hammer. The pointy edge is surprisingly extremely sharp. When she first got the hammer, she tried it out with a friend and almost stuck her finger. She also almost stuck her finger when she forgot to disassemble the hammer and brushed her hand against her coat pocket on the hospital wards. Please be extremely careful/gentle when using the pinprick with patients. You don't need to press hard to do the Babinski test. A light touch is enough with this pinprick to elicit a positive Babinski sign. Also if you don't completely disassemble the hammer to put it in your coat/scrub pocket, please be sure to at least remove the pinprick portion because you can easily get stuck. Please see my attached photos of the hammer - how long it is, what it looks like with all the parts disassembled and assembled completely. I have included a ruler and some coins to help you determine the size and if this hammer will fit in your white coat/scrub pockets.

I was initially happy with my purchase for the first couple of days. The hammer is not quite heavy enough to be considered an ideal weight for a reflex hammer, but heavy enough to elicit good reflexes on a patient. The telescoping handle expands well and collapses well and stays in place in the extended or collapsed positions without issue.Unfortunately where this hammer fails is with the folding head. The head initially would stay in place when positioned in the perpendicular position for use, but after only a few days the hinge on the hammer's head became so lax that the head would collapse to the vertical (parallel) position when swinging the hammer. This made the hammer impossible to use. I tried tightening the screw on the head of the hammer as other reviewers had suggested, but this did not result in a significantly tighter joint. Shortly after tightening the screw, the hinge again became as lax as before. I have resorted to taping the hinge in place, but this is not an ideal solution. I would not purchase this product again given this problem.

Seems to be well made and of good quality. Haven't used it much yet but I hope it holds up well. I was advised that the pointed end is too sharp to use for the Babinski reflex, but the tendon hammer works fine. The paint on the front that says Prestige Medical was almost wiped off, but that is nothing much to complain about. So far, I am happy with this product.
