ProMark's most durable Rebound 5AB. FireGrain is a patented heat-tempering process that transforms ordinary hickory drumsticks into precision tools with unprecedented durability. While keeping their original weight and balance, ProMark FireGrain sticks allow drummers to hit harder and play longer, naturally. No excess vibration, no space age gimmicks, just natural hickory hardened by flame. The 5AB diameter measures .580", sitting just between 5A and 5B sticks.

These lasted one playing session, done within an hour! The tips simply chip off and you end up with a rough and squared tip, great for wrecking your skins and if they survive that, they will break close to the end.. not strong at all. Very disappointed with this purchase. I’ll stick to the rebound 5a normal.

Gets the job done. Wish it felt a bit more solid in the hand and made more of a strike impact on each drum, especially rims.

As always ProMark comes through with a great stick. Well balanced pair, nice weight, a strong stick that resists premature breakage and chaffing. I'll buy them again.

I decided to try this different style of stick from Promark. I was very pleasantly surprised as the stick has great grip when I normally sand my sticks before using them to increase grip and feel.

These are my favourite pair of sticks. Considering I play regularly at gigs, these are generally my go to sticks since they don’t break easily.

Sono ottime. Bellissime da vedere e versatili nell'utilizzo. "Rimbalzano" bene e sono molto resistenti.

These sticks are perfectly straight and feel to be in the same weight range, so I gave them five stars. That said, they are not my favorite. Bear in mind that I am talking personal preference and not disparaging the stick itself. I much prefer the ProMark Rebound 7A ActiveGrip Hickory model. Here are the reasons for my preference:(1) These are a tad too heavy for my playing style, whereas the other ProMark 7A model is just the right weight. I am sure that has a lot to do with the density of the fire tempered wood as well as the fact that these have the weight in the butt while the other sticks are front loaded with the weight,(2) For some reason these leave marks on my drum heads while the other stick model does not. I use coated Ambassadors on all of my drums, so that was a bit disconcerting.(3) I love the other model, which has an ActiveGrip finish. These are more like unfinished sticks, albeit very smooth ones. I am new to the ProMark ActiveGrip coated sticks, but quickly became enamored of them,(4) I am a traditional grip player who uses dynamics a lot. For heavier music these sticks are better suited.Although I personally prefer other ProMark models, you may in fact love these. Especially if you play louder music. At 16 inches they certainly have reach, and the .535 inch diameter is a nice compromise between jazz sizes and rock sizes (I normally play a thin .512 Elvin Jones model when I am not playing the 7A ActiveGrip one.)One final attribute: the hardened, acorn tip on these sticks impart a brightness and articulation to cymbals that 7A Rebound model's tip does not.

I was thrilled when these 7A Rebounds were finally released in the FireGrain and I'm not disappointed in the least. I used the FireGrain for about 3 years before I tried the Rebonds and fell in love with the feel. The 7A Rebound were previously unavailable in FireGrain until this late April/early May 2021. Now I feel that I've found my perfect stick. Excellent feel and balance for my style with the added durability. LOVE!

Love the feel of these except I had to use some 400 grit sandpaper to roughen up the grip area, as the sticks seemed slipperier than most; not a big deal. I got the rebound version and the balance makes the stick feel very light, almost as if you're playing a smaller size stick, yet getting the volume of a stick that's larger. They produce a nice cross-stick on the snare& stick-click sound. I really love the color of these as it shows the beautiful grain pattern of the wood. I plan to buy more sizes for different gig situations. Recommended.
