Proven makes the best trailer locks I’ve used hands down. It’s the only one I feel confident using if leaving my trailer in the backcountry for the day or parking it in storage. Their customer service is also top notch and is willing to quickly solve problems whenever you need them.

For years I have purchased middle of the road coupler locks for my trailers and every one of them, from Trimax, to Reese, to Master Lock has failed me in some way. Several of them had to have the lock cylinder drilled out because they were stuck on there and no longer worked with the key. I got sick of dealing with the headache of trying to leave on a trip and drilling out the lock to get my own trailer hooked up. I decided to spring for an expensive setup, hoping it would be my last. I will never again hassle with cheap locks.This Proven Lock product is extremely well-made and heavy duty. It fit right onto the coupler of my trailer perfectly, holding the safety chain hooks inside and lining up the first time I put it on. The puck lock is very nice. The blue looks nice, and the lock cylinder seems like it will hold up. It is very easy to install and remove, and I am no longer worried about getting locked out from towing my own trailer again. Worth the money (albeit pricey) to save me some headaches.

Very high quality, both secure and durable.Just confirm that you have the correct SKU for your hitch, I didn't pay close enough attention in my initial order and received the incorrect lock for my hitch but after emailing Proven directly they immediately set me up with a return freight label and processed an exchange for the proper lock.Edit: Proven Industries customer service is fantastic, after I ordered the incorrect lock I contacted them and the exchange for the correct unit was quick and painless. The new lock is here and installed.Thank you Proven!!

I purchased this product along with 6 Paclock trailer locks to secure my trailer when parked in a storage lot. The coupler is heavy and seems well made. The packaging was lighter duty than needed for a heavy item like this. Fortunately mine did not get damaged during shipping but the box was not in great shape. I replaced the Proven Industries lock with the Paclock cone shaped lock which seems to be a much better lock overall. I spoke with Proven Industries months ago when I started looking at locks. They mentioned that this trailer hitch lock could be purchased without their puck lock that comes with it if I was going with a different brand of lock. Their customer service when trying to do this was a very rough experience. I could not reach anyone by the phone number on their website so I sent in my questions/requests on the form on their website. Email replies were very slow, phone replies were non-existent. The 2-piece can cover and latch insert seem solid, heavy with good welds and coating. The lock probably would work fine, but I wanted a stainless lock with cone shape to resist drilling so I installed the Paclock 2177S to use with the PI hitch cover. The chain receptacle seems to work good. I'd like to see insert part that goes up into hitch where the ball goes to be more of a 3D part rather than the flat plate steel, but so far, so good. I'd rate the outer can at a 5, inner hitch part a 4, and customer service as a 2.

Product is solid and works flawlessly --- very easy to use. Construction is top notch -- very solid. After placing order, the company reached out to me to just confirm that I had ordered to correct lock; requesting hitch photos if possible. I had in fact ordered the incorrect part, and this was all sorted before the lock assembly shipped. Overall outstanding customer service! Do not hesitate to do business with them through Amazon.

Locked up the trailer !Husband had to give the company a picture of the ball that it was connecting to with some pictures, once that was done all was well, and perfectly fitted to it very easy to put on, I just didn’t like the extra cost from the post office to get it !
