About this item

  • Subcategory: Reamping Box
  • Design: Compact

The phenomenal guitar solo from Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall" is considered to be the birth of so-called re-amping. David Gilmour was dissatisfied with the sound of the recording, and sent the already cleanly recorded guitar signal back over his amp. Meanwhile, "reamping" is a widespread method to try out different guitar sounds without re-recording the track every time. For this procedure, the low-impedance signal from a sound card or tape machine must be converted again into a high-impedance signal, which can be processed by a guitar amplifier, effects processor or preamp. Accessories specialist Radial has the ProRMP the right recording tool for you in their program.

  • Subcategory: Reamping Box

...and there was no doubt it would because Radial is an excellent brand

Solid piece of gear. Because many lower/mid-range audio interfaces seem to output relatively low line-level signals, the level control on the Radial ProRMP may not be enough to bring the level up enough for realistic re-amping. It's not clear to me whether Radial's active re-amp box (X-Amp) can increase the level more than the ProRMP -- but, in any case, you may need more level than the ProRMP can provide. In this case, you can use a (fairly powerful) clean-boost pedal after the ProRMP to bring the signal up to a more realistic level ... or buy a (considerably?) more expensive audio interface that can output a stronger line-level signal.

Don't be like me and waste your time buying the cheap stuff. Go with Radial from the get-go.

Utilized this for our live DI rig to reamp my setup in case I was not able to make a show. We have tried it in practice but fortunately not during a show.

I bought this to be able to reamp from my PreSonus Studio 68c interface and also to be able to profile my physical heads with ToneX. Plenty of volume available, ground lift works as expected, and my reamps sound identical to recording directly into my gear. This also has made incredible captures with IK Multimedia's ToneX software without needing to buy any proprietary hardware. Built like a tank too. If you need a high quality reamp box this checks all the boxes.

I’ve use plenty of Reamp devices in my day, and this is the best sounding, and easiest to use in my opinion. It’s a radial product, so you know you’re going to be getting the best quality possible. Stop using a reverse di box, and pick this up. Thank me later.

Works good, as expected from Radial. You get what you pay for, so I was willing to pay a little more for a quality product (Canadian company too).

Great Reamp Box. Built Like a tank as are all Radial products. I am only giving it 4 stars as I did have to perform a mod in order to get the output level to match properly. The mod is as follows: Remove R1,2,3. Jump R1 and 2, leave 3. Very easy and makes this reamp box do as it should. Would certainly recommend but be prepared to bust out the soldering iron.

This, paired with a DI box, is a home recording studio (or any studio) must-have. I always despised software plugins, and much prefer the sound of micing a real amp. Having a re-amping setup allows me to focus on playing a good performance without worrying about having everything perfect with the amp setup and mics. Conversely, when focusing on getting good amp recordings I can have the exact performance playing through the amp. For a home studio, this allows flexibility on when you can crank it up and when you can be silently recording in headphones. On top of everything else, it's a great creative tool. You can send anything (ANYTHING) out to it and have it convert the signal to instrument level for amping. It's a great way to get many unique tones.

I've tried it, and it is doing its job as expected. My only complaint is that the input is a 3 pin xlr and it would have been nice to have an adaptor for a standard 1/4 cable. Very minor.
