The Frets
The nickel silver frets are all properly seated and well finished. For anyone familiar with guitars and stringed instruments, fret ends can be a very troubling point of touch with inexpensive instruments. BUT, these frets have been manicured to a level that there is no sensation whatsoever.

This is a great fit for any beginner or casual players to relax, express your creativity and puts a smile on many faces. You really only need to learn 4 chords and you're set to play hundreds of different island-y sound for most of children's songs and pop songs. It's pretty cool!
Aquila Strings
Aquila strings - are industry standard and are highly rated and recommended by most. These are the exact kind of strings a uke is supposed to have.
As with any string instrument, you'll need to tune the ukulele to the correct pitches: D, G, B, E.
Dancing to your Tune!
About tuning issue: It happens to any string instrument - It takes few days to stay tuned (due to new strings naturally stretching). Once it's done stretching, it will achieve a optimal tuning stability.
The uke is dynamic, resonant. Single notes have great harmonic sound.

Ranch baritone ukulele purchased for casual play by beginning senior adult. Nice complete kit. Uke arrived in perfect condition, well packaged and with strings in place. Nice addition to have an extra set of strings included. Instrument fits well in bag.Easy to tune and strings have held their pitch very well. Baritone size is good for older hands with more room on fretboard and comfortable playing position. Sound of this uke is fine with no discernible poor individual notes.Tuner includes battery and works OK for starting out, but a bit jumpy and had some screen flicker, so that's a bargain basement item. Tuning modes are hard to see on screen. Anyway, I was buying a ukulele, not a tuner, and later I can get a tuner of my choice if needed.Recommended for casual play out of the box and lots of fun.

So far I like this uke. Are there better quality ukuleles out there? Absolutely. However this uke is well made. It's the the first baritone ukulele I've owned... or really even listened to for that matter... so I don't really have a reference as to if it sounds good or bad. It has a nice tone and all the strings resonate evenly. I'd kind of like to hear it have a little more low end punch but I have to keep in mind that my main instrument that I play is bass... so I tend to want to hear things be a little more bassy than a lot of folks. I'm enjoying playing it and I believe it certainly had potential to be a great uke!

I wanted something bigger than a tenor ukulele but smaller than a guitar. This does the trick. It seems solid and well made (but I've only had it for a couple of days -- so time will tell). And the tone is nice.

This is my first baritone ukulele. I am very pleased. I'm sure there are better ukuleles on the market if you're a pro and willing to spend more, but this one sounds great for playing at home, making music for yourself. It sounds great, keeps in tune well and plays well around a campfire. If you are a professional musician, don't berate this for not sounding like an instrument at a way more expensive price point.

This is simply a lovely uke! I'm not an expert player but I'm not a beginner either and I feel the sound is amazing. And the price is nice with the case, tuner, pic and extra strings! It comes already strung. It arrived fast. It is double boxed (which is good and protective) but the outer box was huge so I would think the inner box would be just sliding all around in it?? Anyway, I'm very happy with this ukulele!

Been playing guitar for over 50 years so I am no stranger to string instruments. Arthritis and lifestyle living as a snow bird in a motorhome limits my selection of instruments . This was a gamble for a low cost pacifier. Totally surprised how much I love it day one.. first problem was bridge height which I quickly remedied with a file to get the action I wanted . I love it his instrument. It is beautifully made, curved back, unexpected, beautiful finish, totally well done frets true to scale, tuner ratio holds tuning well if you know what to expect with a high gear ratio tuners.. love it better than the quick tune cheep plastic geared tuners. Truth is this is a laminate body and front but most ukues are unless you spend hundreds more and I played some at Guitar Center that weren’t as brilliant sounding as this low priced beauty. I was skeptical about a cheep instrument package with an electronic turner, gig bag extra strings etc. it was a totally great joy of purchase for my traveling instrument choice. Kudos to Ranch

I really needed the 20.5 inch scale length and the wider fingerboard. I was not expecting all that much and got better/more than that.* Really good quality* Nice tone* Really god action* Easily adjustedI changed the strings to Worth baritone as I wanted no wound strings so as to get a more tenor Uke sound. I bought the Worth browns, maybe in the future I will change them out to the Worth clears and even go reentrant. We will see what happens next, for now it will stay as it is.It was asked what the bridge and nut material are made of and to that I say, they appear to be dense plastic perfectly adequate. I may change the bridge saddle to raise the bass side as it is pretty much dead flat and the bass side could use a little more tension with the Worth strings on it.Hope any information I provided helps someone make their own decision
