About this item

  • Mahogany Top, Back and Sides
  • Round neck
  • Ebony Fretboard
  • Grover Tuning Machines
  • Sandcast Spider Bridge

The Recording King Professional Resonator is crafted entirely from mahogany with a parallelogram sound well and 12-Fret neck joint. The traditional square neck/round neck design and vintage sunburst finish make this an instant classic. The hand-spun Continental Cone provides true resonator tone, rivaling anything currently available. The bone nut and the maple/ebony saddle help give the guitar great sustain, and the Grover tuning machines keep the strings in tune. The Professional Resonator is truly vintage-styled, with classic features like rounded sound hole screens and slotted screws.

Nice guitar out of the box. I raised the nut height and recapped the saddle with maple (it comes capped with ebony) I added heavier e & b strings and leveled the reso cone while adding a heavier adjusting screw and voila! Marvelous!! For the money i don't think you would find much better.

Beautiful looking guitar, fantastic projection and great action. The only knock is that the geometry may be a little off so it is a little harder to tune. Otherwise pleased for a 200 dollar guitar. It was on sale and I would have been less happy for the 349 to 399 range that I saw it on other sites.

This guitar is an incredible bargain for anyone who wants a well-made, beautiful, great-sounding Dobro style resonator guitar. Truly excellent build quality and finish. Beautifully rendered from the Grover open-gear tuners with brass fittings to the bound ebony fingerboard to the balanced sunburst on both the body and the back of the neck, leveled and reasonably polished frets, and lush-sounding resonator. The action was great right out of the box, which was a pleasant surprise considering how some Recording Kings have shipped in need of a setup. This one didn't. A gorgeous guitar to look at and delightful to play. The cone sounds loud and sweet--not too 'quacky' or tinny, but a very pleasant and distinctive voice.Nice appointments for a guitar at this price point. The mahogany is of nice quality and looks great where it peeks through the sunburst finish. Ebony fingerboard is fast and smooth and uniformly black which adds to the handsome appearance. I can't imagine how it could be improved. It's really that good.I'm very glad I took the chance on a well-priced Dobro style resonator guitar. This one will be staying in my guitar collection for a long, long time.
