This product sucks big time. To begin with; The setup instructions are not very clear. The connection to the phone is not reliable. After turning the vehicle off and turning it back on later the Apple CarPlay would not turn on 9 out of 10 times. Tech support in no were to be found. You will get frustrated with this product. DONT BUY IT!

The power cord was too short!!! Next time include an extension cable for the power so it can actually reach to the display!

Really easy to install and to configure. The system works almost flawlessly.Best upgrade to this vehicle, makes it feel so much more up-to-date.Only thing is the OEM Park distance screen shows when you are in reverse. (If you only have the backside of park distance indicators, you do not have the button on the center console.) This screens stays on, if you press back you simultaneously use the original system and the carplay system together.But this situation is only when you parked the vehicle and most of the time, get out of the vehicle. So not that much of an issue!

Install was simple, there is some setup in the menus to do, but does exactly what its supposed to do :) definitely drop the glove box as youll need to get your hand behind as youre reinstalling radio to position the t-harness as its bulky behind.

Short version: I’ve tried upgrading to ID6, didn’t work, getting a 12.3 android screen, worked poorly, finally got this and it works great.Long version: Okay so my original attempt at getting CarPlay for my 2016 F32 was to upgrade my iDrive4 to iDrive6. This worked for like a week and then it started glitching and failing. The online coder who didn’t tried fixing it twice but it ended up nuking my radio. CarPlay didn’t work, Bluetooth didn’t work, usb didn’t work, only the aux cable.Next I tried one of those 12.3 inch android screens. Thing was way too big BUT CarPlay worked. However it was laggy, screen was too bright at night even on dimmest setting, and my original system wouldn’t work (this was my fault, I bought an Evo when I should have bought and NBT version, I thought since I upgraded to iDrive6 I needed Evo but I didn’t).Finally I got this thing and boy do I wish I did this first and save months of headache. Install was easy and it’s not laggy at all. It utilizes the aux cord which is exactly what I needed since nothing else would have worked in my weird case (it’s easy to run it under the dash and to the glove box from the inside).Hiccup I had that might help people: If when you hold “menu” it goes black instead of to CarPlay, make sure your pins are set on the box to match your screen size, aka read the directions. If it’s still black, hold the back button down on your iDrive to reset the MMI box.

It worked really well. Installation took about 2 hours. I've never installed a radio before in a car, so if you have done that before, then I'm sure it will take you less time. Everything worked: the steering wheel button and microphone without the need to rewire the audio and mic. I would for sure recommend this to anyone. It gave my car that much-needed refresh to Android Auto without purchasing a new car.

Por fin tengo android auto en el coche y a un precio más que razonable (más si lo compras en una oferta).No es difícil de instalar, pero lleva un tiempo. Hay vídeos explicativos. Recomiendo comprar un juego de "palancas" de plástico que facilita mucho el desmontaje de los embellecedores. La otra cosa que hace falta es un destornillador con la punta correcta torx.Lo único que cuesta un poco de trabajo es "guardar" todos los cables detrás del modulo de la radio, un poco de paciencia y se consigue.Funciona muy bien, el móvil se conecta por wifi y por BT al módulo y a partir de ahí tienes android auto con todas las funciones. Cuando arrancas automáticamente salta, si no lo hace porque ha fallado la conexión, pulsando el botón "menú" 3sg pasa del sistema normal del coche a este.La única "pega" que le pongo es que funciona a través de la entrada auxiliar del coche, con lo que no puedes poner la radio cuando lo estás viendo, pero instalas un programa de radio en el móvil y lo tienes solucionado.Por último, instalé también una cámara (comprada aparte) de aparcamiento y totalmente compatible entre este módulo y el coche. Al poner la marcha atrás se ve la cámara y al poner la "d" vuelve, siguiendo funcionando los detectores de proximidad y puedes configurarlo para que la señal de los detectores se vea en una esquina de la cámara.Consejo: lleva una salida USB, yo dejé un cable conectado y sacando la punta por el salpicadero justo delante del huecos de los "vasos", que es donde suelo dejar el móvil y me sirve de punto de carga.

This works for my BMW the Android auto is working fine but it caused an issue where I can't set date and time now and other functions on my display aren't letting me select including being able to see trip info

Il montaggio è relativamente semplice (seguendo alcuni tutorial su YouTube e con gli appositi attrezzi in plastica per non rovinare le plastiche interne). Sulla mia auto il modulo CarPlay non ci sta dietro all'autoradio, per cui ho deciso di posizionarlo nella zona tra consolle centrale e acceleratore. Il risultato è eccellente, con Android Auto che si avvia ancora prima di accendere l'auto. A volte all'accensione del modulo non viene rilevata l'accensione dei fanali per cui, per non avere le mappe in modalità giorno, bisogna spegnere e riaccendere i fanali. A volte i comandi vocali non funzionano bene, ma basta ripetere. Il microfono dell'auto viene perfettamente riconosciuto. Anche le fotocamere anteriore e posteriore aftermarket vengono perfettamente riconosciute e attivate assieme alle guide dinamiche colorate. La grafica per i sensori di parcheggio sarebbe migliorabile. Ogni tanto il telefono si scollega e va ricollegato manualmente. Nel complesso, vista la spesa relativamente bassa, sono molto soddisfatto.

I was a bit worried when I bought this item because it was so much cheaper than the Bimmertech version. The wiring harness is a beast. Once installed though, it works amazing. I have the NBT EVO version, but it does have the 6 pin, so it works great. They say you need the AUX cable to the AUX port, but I didn't need it at all. I just switch it to AUX and the music plays perfectly. When I go in reverse, the factory camera displays perfectly. I see the guide lines and all. When using wireless, it uses BT and Wifi to work. The Wifi is to display images and video and BT is for audio and calls. I do Rideshare and I hate the voice prompts from the GPS. This box allows me to use the steering wheel Mode button to switch between XM Sat radio or Aux but still have Android Auto as the main screen. I highly recommend this product. The original BMW nav is terrible. The BMW BT is terrible. Because my phone is newer, I have to re-pair it everytime I get in the car. With this box, my BT connects immediately and Android Auto comes on by default.

This product is much cheaper than the bimmertech MMI box. I had one bimmertech reverse camera mmi box installed in my bmw f25/X3. But it failed recently after 5 years. Their product is 600 and more. I decided to get this product instead. The installation is easy and smooth. Now I have reverse camera view and apple carplay both. The only cons for me is there is no lines to reminder you when you turning steering while reversing(used aftermarket reverse camera) but it is not a problem for experienced driver.

Je suis très satisfait de ce produit CarPlay. Produit très simple à installer, il faut bien lire les instructions. Il marche à merveille avec iOs dans ma série 3 bmw f30!
