This bag fit perfectly in my turnout pocket with the top flap folded back behind it (Globe G-xcel pants) This allows the escape system to easily deploy from my pocket. Weight is comparable to any high quality bag of this size. There are two sections inside the pouch. The back section is designed to hold the rope, and has two pieces of material that Velcro across the top to prevent anything from getting tangled up in the rope and help it deploy easily. It also creates a nice “shelf” for your descending device or a pair of gloves. The front section of the pouch is not as large, but still has plenty of room for an escape hook and a few carabiners or a small tool.To give an idea what it will hold, I have 40 ft of 7.5 mm escape rope, a Sterling lightning hook, a lanyard with an escape 8, and I used the extra Velcro loop inside to hold an extra carabiner. I could easily carry 10 more ft of rope in it (50’) if needed. This is a niche item, so you can’t just walk in a store and try one out. I took a chance on this bag after several good experiences ordering from Rock N’ Rescue and have been glad I did.
