The VAD307 is purposefully compact while maintaining the distinctive V-Drums Acoustic Design aesthetic. The footprint is the same as a mid-level V-Drums set, making it ideal for home use and tight stages. Cutdown shallow shells save space and weight—but from the playing position, they feel instantly familiar to any drummer. The younger me would be jealous. I've always wanted a v-drum kit. I've had several electronics and this is the best yet. Its feels more real than any electronic set I've played. Having real shells and actual stands is a huge upgrade. I really missed rimshots...Like most newer gear the headphone output can't keep up with how I hit, but I know this isn't a thing with just this kit or Roland. I just run it through a small mixer and boost it a little, otherwise I hear the sticks and pads as loud as the output.One note: a double pedal does not readily work with this kick drum. Well, reallyYou can clamp it on and even play, but will need offset beaters before long or risk damaging the edge of the pad where the remote beater lands. Sadly I have not found ones that have right offset yet. The instructions say something like "use an appropriately offset beater". I thought that Roland would have worked that out and offered them for sale. I was wrong

Out of the box this thing was awesome! Great drumset here... played for about 3 hours. I have to do a deep dive on all the setting but so far I made 2 custom kits. First impressions: A+

First off, these drums are beautiful. The shells make it look like an actual acoustic drum set. The build quality is top notch.What I was most surprised about was the hardware. I have owned a lot of DW hardware and I would say it's up there with the DW 9000 series.It comes with 70 preset kits (more than I would ever need) and they sound great.I'm in love with this set!
