The bolt supplied with the motor and gear assemblies are too long and they hit the inner gear on the transmission causing the motor to bind and fail to retract and extend the steps and they're about 1/8 of an inch too long had to do the job twice because of that bolted it together then realize what was happening and had to take it back apart again I just hope the stuff last I know it must be cheap because for 60 something bucks for a motor and transmission is really cheap we'll see how it goes

Motor worked fine for a 2001 Winnebago. Almost all motors are universal, however, the wiring harness can vary. I had to get a different pigtail for the wiring, but got that resolved. The main issue I had was that the casting foe the case and threads for mounting the motor to the gear body was boogered up from the factory. The bolts went in fine for the first 5 or 6 turns, but started to bind after that. I had to chase the threads down on the casing and also the bolts. Also to note, the 3rd bolt directly over the main gear on the housing is not a blind bolt hole. The hole goes directly above the main gear. The issue is that the bolts that came with the unit are all the same length and if that 3rd bolt is torqued, it will touch the gear and bind it up. I ended up buying a shorter bolt (1/4 inch shorter) so that it clears the issue. Also, when you install (1) mount the gear on the steps and the arm, (2) plug/wire the motor but don't install yet on the gearbox, (3) open your RV door to power the motor...it should stop spinning after 10-15 sec. and be on the open position, (4) Install the motor on the gearbox (5) lube all the moving parts on the stairs, (6) close RV door and the stairs should retract and stop.
