I had hoped that these ice balls would pop out of the container easily and they do not. The balls have cracks, and have to be run under water to remove them from the mold. I ordered one for us and one for relative across the nation. Neither of us can be successful with these with out another huge project.

Not a big mess when filling under the sink, just tip it to drain extra water off top. Good fit of bottom to lid, I run som water over frozen tray to help me get the ice balls out. Use all the time

This is a clever device for making large ice balls. The device is pretty easy to use. I've made 50+ batches and the device works pretty consistently.A couple of notes:* The silicone top might not seal completely and leak water through a crack. It usually doesn't, but I've found that it's best to put the ice tray on a mini baking sheet in the freezer to catch any water that might leak out. When it does leak, I get one ice ball that might be only 3/4 complete.* It takes a full 24 hours to make a batch of ice. These ice balls are thick and take some time to freeze all the way through.* The ice can crack in water, which ruins some of the fun, but they often don't break apart, even if there is some cracking.* Removal can be a little tricky. I find it is best to let it sit for a couple minutes, break all the ice of the top out of the little funnels (if any), then use my thumb to push the ice out of the silicone while pulling back on the edge of the silicone. I do this on top of the tray so that when the ice falls, it lands in the plastic tray and doesn't roll away.

One for special ice cubes for drinks with edible flowers. The second one for natural colour dyeing. I will have to be careful not to mix them up!

If you do not have the dexterity with your fingers to pull the rubber coupling off. This is not the device for you. It takes a solid grip to pull that rubber coupling off. It makes beautiful round ice balls.

Me encanto que es la marca original. El material se ve grueso y resistente. Es fácil rellenar los moldes. Vale la pena comprar en esta marca Samuel. Comprare los moldes cuadrados. Ya tengo los de hielo redondo.

The mold stays together and creates an ice globe that is perfect for drinks. There is a bit of a ridge in the middle of the ice ball where the mold comes together which tends to be where it starts melting. Overall, a very good product.
