Estuve eligiendo durante largo rato una báscula que viniera en kilos y cuando la recibí, viene solo en Libras, a pesar de haber sido publicitada con graduación en kg. Que mal!

Just opened the package received by Canada Post in perfect order. Tried the scale and it seems accurate. Product gives the feeling of something that will last many years. It is made in China however. I have seen those scales in doctors offices. This is why I purchases this scale.

I had a Seca scale my mother brought me about 30 years ago. Still accurate and works great so I ordered this one in the hopes I'd be better able to read the dial. What a disappointment! When I opened the box, the dial was clearly bent and so was the red arrow. Clearly all of Seca's quality control inspectors were on vacation when this one was packed. Needless to say, it was hopelessly inaccurate. I returned it the same day it was received and will continue to use my old one.

I bought Seca Classic Big Dial Floor Scale (Black) over two months ago. It's very accurate and the dial is easy to read. I was always a big fan of Seca scales, although in the past they were, in my opinion, better made. Still, after trying to use electronic scales, I went back to mechanical scales. In my view electronic scales are 99.9% inacurate. Among mechanical scales I find Seca brand to be the number 1. I received my new Seca scales in perfect condition- no chips and properly wrapped. I'm very satisfied with my purchase!!

Though I did not discover the problem until I went back to my doctor and found that instead of losing a few pounds, I gained two more pounds, the Seca 750 I purchased under-weighs me by nearly 10 lbs. I had purchased a Seca due to seeing that a Seca 760 on the floor next to the traditional sliding-metal doctor's scale gave exactly the same reading as the traditional scale, which I took for a sign of accuracy. Therefore, I trusted the Seca 750 when it arrived. Bad idea. As noted, it underweighs me by nearly 10 lbs. I've had it a few weeks and question whether I could find all the packing so I'm thinking I'm stuck with it but perhaps there is some difference between a 760 and a 750 in reliability. The instructions for calibration say to set the indicator line at zero but apparently I will have to set it at plus 9 lbs. To me this purchase, a rather pricey one, is a big disappointment. In trying various scales, besides the Seca 760 at the clinic, the scale that gives the reading closet to the sliding-metal, traditional scales that I'm using as a reference, and not just one of those but at least two such scales, is a "Health-o-meter" digital with a rating of up to 400 lbs. and a 1.5", backlit display. Unlike other, previous, smaller digital models in the "Health-o-meter" line, at least the one I've purchased appears to be stable, not prone to give one an "E" error message constantly and when giving a reading being off of reality by about 6 lbs. Though it was only one test on one scale, the "Health-o-meter" large dial-type scale I tried at the store over-weighed me by 10 lbs. So far the only two scales I've encountered that seem to give the same readings as two different, sliding-metal doctor's scales are A) a Seca 760 (and unfortunately this is a 750) and B) the "Health-o-meter" digital with a 400 lbs. rating and the 1.5" backlit display. You can get one of these, by the way, for less than a third or what I paid for the Seca 750. Though I suspect that many, including many doctors and healcare workers, assume that getting a home scale that gives an accurate reading is a simple affair with many choices. This has not been my experience and the Seca 750 that came to me is NOT one that qualifies in my experience and has set back my weight-loss program by weeks of faulty readings. P.S. After adjustng the starting point up, and weghing, and back to zero, it is beginning to look like someting that may have been stuck might have freed up. Though the jury is still out, it might be working now. However, I believe you can get reliable results, as noted above, for less than a third of the price of the Seca 750.

Scale was not properly packaged by seller. The scale was only sent in its original packing, which appeared to be quite old or weakened by moisture, and was not in a secondary shipping box. The original packaging box was flimsy and clearly damaged when it arrived (caved in/collapsed in areas). There was lots of tape holding the box together which provided some integrity to the structure but this made the box hard to open. Internal padding and part of the box disintegrated upon opening. The face of the dial was dislodged in shipping and i had to clean it and reattach it (snaps in place). Scale creaks when I step on it which makes me wonder if it was damaged in transit. I zeroed the scale prior to standing on scale and read my weight. When stood off scale it did not return to zero. I did this multiple times without the gauge returning to zero and was sometimes high and sometimes low. The fluctuation in my wight was 5 lbs. Found that pressing the scale surface up and down with my hand helped the gauge return closer to zero and gave a more consistent weight each time, but I do not have confidence that this scale is giving an accurate weight, which is not what I paid good money for. Further, this scale was previously returned on February 17th for not being accurate and then was resold to me as if it was BRAND NEW without any indication that it had previously been returned! I am contacting the seller to deal with this issue.**UPDATE**Seller mailed me a BRAND NEW SCALE and the packaging was undamaged, scale undamaged, etc. Scale works perfectly. The weight is both accurate AND precise. Same weight no matter how often you get on and off. Always returns to zero with only needing slight adjustment. Very pleased to have a functioning scale after my previous ordeal = )

After making the mistake of buying an electronic scale, we opted to go back to a pure mechanical version. No more waiting for a 'reset" on the electronic version, no more error messages, no more nothing...just step on the scale and get a friggin reading the first time, every time! This is a solid scale that seems to have very reliable readings. Set it to zero and have no had to fuss with it again.Nice platform that is firm - without a wobble. Slight texture but not so much that it gets dirty. Easy to keep clean. Easy to set.I agree with the other reviewers that the numbers could be a bit larger especially for aging eyes but aside from that...very pleased.Great to have a good scale - those electronic ones are NOT all they are cracked up to be!
