Cement works just fine with a range of about 70 feet in the house. But examine the connectors before you deploy. It seems that the connectors and wire or not completely cramped and we’re usually kicked out from the mat’s connection points to the transmitter. It was easily fixed with conductive the heater and doubling the wire loop so they couldn’t be kicked out again. Still, I would rather have not had to repair it as I needed it immediately.

Purchased this to use with an Arduino for a custom floor sensor. Works perfectly like a super large FSR.

Product works as described, but with two significant design flaws. First, the pressure mat is way too sensitive. It is supposed to detect human activity, not set off false alarms from a 12 pound cat walking across the surface. Second, it is inconceivable the monitor was designed without an on-off switch. With the monitor always 'on' how is the person supposed to get in or out of bed at the regular times without triggering the alarm? They say it has no switch for 'patient safety.' I say include the switch and let the user decide to employ it or not. It's function could be controlled by another protected, internal toggle such as the Tone 1/2 selector.Postscript: The first problem was solved by placing another, regular mat on top. This provided enough of a buffer to make it mostly cat proof. The workaround for the second involved removing the batteries and plugging the a/c adapter (not included) into a dedicated, switched power strip. This also eliminated having to use the tricky reset button. To work it must be depressed three times, neither too quickly nor too slowly, but at just the right tempo.

I can't believe Amazon will not have in BOLD letters - This item is NOT eligible for refund. I was hesitant based on reviews, but figured I can return it if it doesn't work. Now I am stuck with it. The concept is good and the product CAN be good, but here is the problem. My 88 year mom wakes up and steps on it. It wont stop beeping until one of us kids come from the other room and clicks the button 3x's. Now it's quiet and we can focus on mom. But mom is still sitting on the bed, and we are slowly getting her up and off the bed - and bam - alarm goes off again. Sometimes it takes 30 secs - 1 minute to get her off the pad. We are tripping the alarm OVER AND OVER AND OVER. The alarm should at least SHUT UP or PAUSE for at least 1 min to get the patient off the pad. If the beeping would just pause for 30 sec's or 1 min, I would love the product. The on/off is not easily accessible.

Doesn't have a silly on/off switch, which makes it very irritating and makes you think the company just cheapened out. For the price, this should be a standard feature.

Works great. Did have to call back and get help hooking everything up which they were happy to do and walked me right through it very efficiently.

I purchased this to hear my Mom who has Alzheimer's when she gets up at night. When I have not had much sleep for a several nights (caregivers know what I mean) I needed a little help in hearing her and this does the trick. I love it

Wonderful product. Very sensitive. Visiting Nurse loved it and was very impressed. She also thought the price was in line with the quality. Highly recommend.
