My 95-year-old mother LOVES to wear her JOY pin, which she has done for years and it has become a mark of identification for her at her assisted living residence. Recently, neuropathy in her fingers and hands has made it impossible for her to wear it as she is no longer able to work the traditional pin closure that requires manipulating the secure closing. We removed the original backing and, using epoxy glue, replaced it with one of these Safety Clasp Pin Backs and she's back in business - filled with and spreading JOY! The first order arrived damaged but the replacement order came the next day in perfect condition.

This review is for the 15mm silver pins. I received 31 total, instead of the advertised 30. Always better to get more rather than less!One downside is that they are extremely easy to bend, as if they were made of aluminum. Straight out of the package 20 of them were already bent.The color is more steel (dark gray) rather than a bright silver.Due to the size they are hard to open and close as the closures at either end are still full sized. The pin bar is so teeny tiny you can only get your fingertip on it. I hadn’t anticipated that but I’m hoping they’ll still work for my needs.They are ok for $4.99 but I wouldn’t pay more for them. Solid three stars.

Would have liked a mix of sizes. The bags that were available as a mix, did not have this small size. This product is satisfactory.

These pinbacks are a simpler and better design than the ones that have the microscopic rotating lock. Easier for fingers to manipulate. I attached the pinbacks to fabric by using needle and thread, or by using strips of fusible interfacing.
