More and more we buy shoes online. When they don't fit, how frustrating and what a waste of $$$. This is an old time fix to stretch your shoes. The manufacturing would make my grandmother proud. The packaging was really nice for storing these, and lets be honest, the little carving just won me over. An altogether charming, and well made item. I stretched my shoes.... and knew they needed to still be larger...I repeated... 3 times until they were perfect.

I have medium width feet, but still have a couple of pair of shoes that get tight at the end of the day. This pair of dressy flats started out narrow in the toe box. I was able to get them damp and and widen them easily. These are well made and have a couple of accessories to make them more versatile.Just a little pricey for the task.

Finally had a shoe hiccup arrive, a small manufacturing error had a pinched up toe in a shoe that otherwise should've fit. There are no instructions in the box at all, but I pulled one stretcher out and after twisting on some things it was quick to figure out. No problems. I inserted one stretcher into the shoe, twisted on it, left it for about 3 days and was shocked that it fixed the shoe completely, providing the toe space the shoe naturally had! For saving and altering shoes that are too expensive to throw away or too loved to give away, this shoe stretcher device seems invaluable. Greatly appreciate having it.These WON'T WORK FOR BOOTS, since there's no way to bend it in half and the metal rod has to stick straight out, but for shoes and slippers, these stretchers will be my go-to!

I purchased to stretch shoes that bother the top of my foot ( I have a high instep). There's 2 small inserts that you place in that top area (under the tongue), that helps that area in particular. Used on tennis shoes and also more firm shoes and it really helps. I intend on either trying it on wet tennis shoes or buying a stretching spray for leather shoes along with this device. So many ways to crank things up to get the right stretch. If anything could improve it would be to isolate the shoes width from being stretch when you only need the top stretched. I like this tool. Yay!

As I've aged, my feet have developed bunions, so shoes are often tight around the toes and purchasing wide shoes doesn't really work (my heel starts slipping). These shoe stretchers have so many configuration options that you can customize to match your feet. Summertime I most wear open shoes so haven't given these a full trial yet but did put them into a pair of leather dress shoes that rub against my bunions. After stretching the shoes, I can wear them again for several hours without discomfort. So that's a winner in my book. I took off one star because the rod doesn't bend to put it into boots.

I feel like I need a university degree to use these shoe trees. I'm used to the type that have the split toe and the spring you compress, but them into your shoe, they snap back and tada, you're done. Obviously this is a lot more. There are plastic pieces that you can bump out portions (i'm not sure why), there is a way to quick collapse the tree, and the stretcher is a cute little bear, but it all is a bit much for me. They do seem to work just fine. I have no idea what the hook on the end is for. I guess I have to run over to YouTube and take a course. There is a great bag to put the shoes into for traveling. So, I just wanted to stretch my shoes and have them made of wood to dry out the shoe if there was moisture in there, but apparently there's a whole new world. I'll bet these are Bluetooth connected too, but I'm afraid to ask …..************** VINE Notice ************************Even though I have been given this product as part of a VINE review by Amazon, my reviews are honest and not influenced by receiving the product. Quite frankly, I could buy this if I wanted it, and I am doing these reviews for fun. I am a 65 year old guy and have appreciated the very clear and detailed reviews on Amazon. I started leaving my own and was selected to give these for products that I wanted to look into. But I will call a dog a dog.*************** Explanation of Rating System *************************My rating system. 5 Stars means that it not only worked well, but had features that I wasn't expecting. That is, it worked beyond expectations. 4 Stars means it did what it said it would do and I found no problems that kept me from liking the product or annoying me to the point of wanting me to do something about it. 3 Stars means that it worked, but it had a problem significantly annoying enough that I decided that it interfered with my enjoyment of the product. 2 Stars is that the product may have barely worked, but there were enough problems that made me desire to either return it or to use it grudgingly because it was pain in the toucus. 1 Star - it simply fails in all respects, and I'll tell you why.

This works as expected - however there are no instructions in the box so if you've never used one of these before you may be a little confused.Regardless of how a shoe stretcher works - the shoe needs to be made of a material that stretches. The bunion pieces don't fit easily into the drilled holes - and the holes are drilled at angles such that the plugs aren't perpendicular. Not a huge problem, but they stick out a bit too much and are sometimes prone to falling out before they're inserted in the shoe.
