I got this as a stepping up instrument in the hopes of getting back to a full size alto. Worth the price

It's a sax. You can't just get a nice note out of it if you don't already know how to play a sax.I play recorders, and I keep trying out all sorts of wind instruments, and the fact is, the good old fashioned recorder -- the classic blockflute -- you can get a decent note without trying. The main problem with recoders is they are loud and hurt your ears. What I do for practicing is I take a fuzzy pipe cleaner (you can get them at Michaels) and make an adjustable mute that goes over the hole in the side of the recorder, and fiddle around with it until the sound is softer and easier on my ears, but still clear enough. That's what everyone looking for an "easy" instrument to play needs to do, I think. This baby sax isn't it.

El problema es que no he podido generar los "overtones" para las notas altas. Hasta ahora no he visto un buen video tutorial que enseñe como hacerlo. Seguiré practicando.

I could be wrong but I thought it came with cork so you could use a sax mouthpiece. It comes with two rubber O rings, but it seems like an Alto Sax mouthpiece will fit, but not positive. And you'll have to get 1 or 1.5 reeds if you are new to it.The included packs are 2.5.Otherwise it seems pretty good for the money.

decided to try out the sax, so i whent with this. the fingering is like any recorder flute we get at school. the only hard part, is to get the right tone with out the duck sound. wish is, i think what you will get on all sax when your a start. but once i get the right note, it sound prety good and not too loud. nice thing too is the size, a bit longer than the fluteDecider d'essailler le sax, alors j'ai pris cecis. meme doigter qu'une flute qu'il donne a l'ecole. la partie difficile c'est de faire sortir le bon son sans bruit de canard. mais c'est pasmal la meme chose pour tout les sax au debut. Le son est quand meme bon sans etre trop fort. elle a presque les meme dimention que la flute

Tried to find a button where I could contact the seller to ask if mine may be faulty I definitely cannot get it to make any noise that doesn’t sound like a very Honkey flute

The LittleSax is a great way to make music. I got it because I though it would be a nice way to set in my chair and play. It is advertised as a 2 octive instrument. It can hit 2 octives but not at first. You will need to learn how to bend notes. The instructions that you can download is not very clear. Being in Chinese with English notes flashed on the screen every now and then. I have ask for the sheet music that can be sent via email several times with no respons. I can get good sounds from it but the fingering of the notes are strange. You will need to learn the numbering system used because it is not in traditional music notes. I also own the Minisax which is a similar insterment with a more traditional fingerings. I do love the low full tone of the LittleSax.

This was my first wind instrument with reed. The first few days struggled to get a sound coming out of it. With the help of YouTube videos managed to get sound. The videos associated with this product were of not much help as they were not in English. After a week of trying managed to play the full scale. After three weeks able to play some simple songs. Tip for beginners, try different mouth positions, it helps to moisten the reed at the start, and the reed may develop fungus if left without cleaning in summer. As a beginner have nothing to compare against. Feel it as good value for money for trying out before moving on the bigger better pricey instrument. Some guidance on how often to change reeds, how best to store it ( with or without reed) would be helpful for beginners like me.

I just got this pipe today. I was so excited to have something in the key of C so I wouldn’t have to transpose to play with my friends. I was also thinking it would be so much easier to set up than my alto or tenor sax. I even thought it would be much easier to play given the small size. Well, I put it together, which was very easy. But when I tried to play it, I was very glad I know how to play a regular sax. At least I could get sound out of it. It took a huge amount of breath to play three or four notes. I changed out the ligature and reed for some I knew worked well on my alto. That helped a little. I’m going to keep trying to play it snd hope for the best.UPDATE: I gave up after several attempts to play. I couldn't sustain the amount of air it takes to get notes out of this pipe. Returned.

This “8-Hole LittleSax” was ordered on 3/5/20 and arrived on 3/10/20. It seems to be a well-made and nice looking instrument. Following the included instruction, it’s easy to assemble and ready to play. While never playing with any instrument with this type of mouthpiece before, I was able to play some simple melodies right away. The recorder type of finger holes is very helpful. In fact, it’s a nine hole system, for there is one more hole than usual for right thumb in back side. Though the size is about 2” longer than a soprano recorder, it’s sound is loud enough to me. Glad to make a right choice.

I thought it would use a regular sax mouthpiece as I use on my professional alto saxophone but found out it doesn't go on the Little Sax. You have to use the mouthpiece it was made for. Some of the fingerings are not the same either. With a very limited range of less than an 8ve, the lower notes don't play that well. It is just for fun to play around on like a toy, even though I would never use it to play in our regular jazz band/or concert band.
