I wanted something for my sundews and Venus fly traps that was prettier than perlite. This sand works great for helping to aerate the peat moss, and I have a thin layer on top of the soil. It was easy enough to wash the sand, and the runoff is 0 ppm.

Bought this to use in pots for outdoor ashtrays for visiting smokers after researching the proper sand to use in ashtrays. I bought a kitty litter scoop to clean the butts out after they leave. Unfortunately the granules are too big to sift through. The sand itself is as described. I'll just have to go out and invest in a large bag of sand at the local big box hardware store instead. I'm sure that large bag with last for decades! ;-)
