What is RFID and Why do I Need to Block It?

Credits cards, government issued personal identification cards, passports, and more are being fitted with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) chips. These chips act like the strip on your credit card or drivers license and are able to quickly and wirelessly transmit personal and financial data. These chips help you check out at the store faster, speed up your time at customs, and generally make your life easier.

HOWEVER, and this is big, some malicious individuals have found ways to intercept these RFID signals and steal your personal and financial information. Our RFID blocking wallets help protect you by blocking the signals that thieves are trying to steal.

About RFID

There are two main types of RFID frequencies: Low Frequency (LF) and High Frequency (HF):

  • LF devices operate at 125 KHz or 134 KHz and have a read distance of up to 10 cm. This is what your access card uses to let you in the door at work. LF devices tend to work more slowly than HF but are more powerful than the other two, meaning they can work through metal or other materials (like our wallet) that block LF signals.
  • HF devices operate at 13.56 MHz and have a read distance of up to 1 meter. HF devices include credit cards and government issued ID cards. The lining in the Stealth Mode wallets blocks this frequency to prevent your personal and financial information from being stolen.

Stealth Mode wallets are designed to block HF signals since that is the frequency used by credit cards and government issued ID cards.

Have had this wallet for a couple of months. It seems to be made very well, made with quality materials. Has a lot of pocket to put whatever you want in your wallet. Would recommend if you are looking for a well built wallet.

La verdad es que yo era el clásico hombre que solo cambia de cartera cuando le regalan una nueva, pero nunca había tenido una de tanta calidad como esta. Ya tenía normalizado que las carteras no duraran y se maltrataran muy fácil pero esta de verdad se siente muy bien construida. Para mí, además con la cantidad y practicidad justa de compartimenos. Como va mi experiencia hasta ahora creo que cuando finalmente se deteriore compraré otra igual.

To start off, the packaging was beautiful. The wallet is not too thick when full, and the layout/organization of the interior is what I was looking for in a wallet. The stitching and quality is great. My cards are held securely in place with the deep pockets. It's comfortable in my back pocket and I appreciate the added security. I hope to have this wallet for 20 years like my last one!

Nice wallet. Looks and feels high quality. Lots of storage. The only downside is it is a little on the larger side, probably 1/2”-3/4” wider than the one it is replacing. Still, I would definitely recommend.

Very nice wallet. I love the carbon fiber look. It is not as bulky as my old wallet. I love the dual pouch bill area and the fact that it added no bulk is a plus. The card slots are perfect size, I have no trouble getting cards out and yet they are snug enough I don't have to worry about them falling out accidentally. I guess time will tell if that holds up or they loosen, don't know that yet. No idea how well they block scanning as I don't have a way to test that but, overall, for my use I really like it. Highly recommend.

First off I would like to say that I am so impressed with the extremely quick service, and the hand-written note. I work in online sales, and to get this level service is outstanding. BRAVO Stealth Mode!!!As for the wallet, it is superb. Immediately the first impression was that it was designed and manufactured very well. They definitely put thought and care into the manufacturing process and even the packaging. You receive the wallet wrapped in sealed plastic bag, which is inside of another very nice cloth bag, which is then padded and packaged within another box. The wallet feels very sturdy and well built. It is soft to the touch and had PLENTY of space inside without being too bulky. It has two cash slots which are lined with durable cloth material. The card slots fit all of my cards perfectly. I like that the cards sit above each other and are not all on the same level, which makes it much easier to see and grab your cards. The ID slot seems very durable as well. The stitching is very strong and neat. There are not any loose or frayed strings. the hidden slots fit just about anything.Overall, I am EXTREMELY impressed with this purchase. I am very picky about the wallet I use, so after about 5-6 hours of looking online and searching through reviews and videos I found this product. I am so happy I chose this one. I am sure this wallet will last for years and years.GREAT JOB STEALTH MODE TEAM, AND THANK YOU FOR THE NOTE KATE!
