This neck was mounted and setup in less than 1 hour. I only had to touch up the nut filing and the truss rod a small amount. One fret had lifted slightly and I wicked in a drop of CA glue. The neck comes in a matte finish and is smooth. It has a 9 1/2" radius. The fret wire is .050" x .105 and looks to be a brass alloy? You'll need one string tree to create more break angle on the high strings. I had plans on changing the nut but, it's fine.

Fits an older Squire Strat body perfectly. Plays smooth and fast. Worked out great for my partscaster. Highly recommend.

Perfectly straight, good-looking neck that fits like a glove while giving me that 22nd fret I was needing. The extra length of the fingerboard fit right over the pickguard without needing to cut or sand anything, which I'm pretty stoked about. Fretwork is as perfect as I care to check for and way, *way* better than the Squier neck I replaced it with. There's only some minor fret buzz that can't be heard when amplified, and that's with lower action and zero truss rod adjustment. It's been a week since I installed it, but I believe I needed to drill some holes at the base to connect to the body, as well as for the string trees, and two tiny little holes per tuning peg to fit their support peg thingies. Aside from that, the main tuning peg holes were pre-drilled exactly where they should've been and at the size they should've be.Now for the "except": The head was split along the grain from the third tuning peg, continuing (ironically along a different grain) through the second and first hole, up through the top. The factory probably used a little too much pressure when drilling. It was repaired before I received it, showing a minor blemish where the outermost part was filled with, I believe, sawdust and some kind of filler (super glue seems to be popular). Not a huge deal but the fix protruded into the first peg hole, which I needed to re-drill, causing the split to open back up. If I had made the neck myself, I'd've still reluctantly attached it to the guitar. But if I had made it myself, I also wouldn't have paid $80. So, I'm just a little disappointed and hoping it doesn't affect tuning stability or whatever else. After a couple dry winter / muggy summer cycles, we'll see how it holds.Had I noticed the issue before starting my work, I'd've probably sent it back. But since it's installed, and the whole thing required no adjustment or setup afterward, it's still a far better buy than the wildly overpriced but otherwise identical pieces of wood that have the "Fender" logo on them. Still though, I've got to wonder if attempting to fix the split cost more than simply tossing the neck.

This neck is exactly what I needed to restore a older fender super strat. I did have to file a couple sharp edges on some of the frets but really only about three of them. They might have shrunk back down if I let the neck sit for another couple weeks as it's pretty humid here in Oregon this winter. You cannot go wrong for the price. This is an excellent replacement neck.

Quality is excellent. Fit was above average. Fret work is better than most Squire or MIM necks. Shipping was about 15 days. Well packaged. Very pleased.

Picked this neck for my custom Blue Floral Stratocaster tribute build. Cannot tell any difference between this neck and one of my american built Fender necks for a fraction of the price. Frets are level, need polishing only. Superior product. Just ordered another one.
