This thermometer was worth the price of not messing up fudge, icing, or candy due to not setting. Highly recoomend it if you do a lot of cooking of these things.

Bought locally at a grocery store. It lasted one day, not even actually. On our 3rd batch of candy the bulb at the bottom came out and the glass cracked.

Temp is the most imporrtant factor when making home made fudge, the thermometer tells me, IT'S READY !! No more,I hope I can do better next time !!! ha ha .

I'm happy with my thermometer. I bought it for measuring when my homemade wax is ready and it does the job.

This thermometer simply isn't accurate nor is it particularly easy to read. It lead us to burn our first batch of toffee only to repeat without the thermometer and judge by color. The second batch was perfection!

I clipped this piece of garbage to the side of the pan, but it would not stay where I would adjust it to and it kept sliding to the bottom of the pan. Then I thought I had it jimmy rigged ok, and pop, the thing exploded and my oil went inside. Thank god it didn't have mercury in it.
