About this item

  • Give your pet a conducive habitat --- SunGrow Axolotl Leaves are around 2" (5 cm)) and are a good addition in the axolotl enclosure. You will notice that the aquarium water starts changing color to tea-like. Our leaves release compounds that are beneficial for your pet.
  • One product, several benefits --- Once introduced into the axolotl habitat, our leaves serve more than one purpose. It provides shelter, a supplement to their diet, energy during recovery, balances pH and clears the water.
  • Optimum quality leaves --- Products like bottled black-water extracts may contain other elements mixed in that may not be good for your pet. You could pick the leaves outside but you cannot be sure of the quality. The best assurance for your pet is to use SunGrow’s specially dried leaves. They are hand-picked to ensure that every single leaf is of optimum quality.
  • Not just for axolotls --- Please note that your axolotl amphibians are antisocial and you house one pet in one tank. If you own multiple pets, you can make use of it with shrimps, snails, and fish. With time, the leaves would soften. Shrimps have been known to nibble on soft leaves, while fish sometimes hide under them. Our leaves serve as leaf litter for your other amphibians like newts, salamanders, and frogs. Being a value pack, you'll receive 100 leaves.
  • Easy to use --- Depending on your water tank size and the pH level needed, drop a few leaves into your water tank (you can use a pH tester or a drop checker). Over the next few days, the leaves will slowly settle down to the bottom. Since SunGrow Special Leaves are raw, you don't have to boil them down. Simply drop these leaves straight into your tank... it's that easy to use. These leaves can be used in a cage as well, to make a more naturalistic cage.

Spider & Isopod Mini Catappa for Spiders and Isopods

Caring for Spiders and Isopods Keeping spiders and isopods as pets is not common. However, there's a growing popularity of these species among pet enthusiasts because they have minimal care requirements. When you decide to keep spiders, you can always start with Tarantulas (Curly Hair Mexican Red-knee, Chilean Rose, Brazilian Black, and Pink Toe Tarantulas).

This pet choice fits owners who want quiet animals that are simple to maintain. Since they are not social animals, they need to be in an enclosure with a secure lid and good ventilation. It would be best if you also placed a piece of cork bark, hollow log, or any hiding place. In their native habitat, they like to burrow, and placing dried leaves like Mini Catappa by SunGrow can provide an added sense of security. They don’t like bright lights, and these dried leaves can cover the entranceway of their hiding getaway, and they will feel that predators will not be able to find them. Like Tarantulas, putting dried Indian Almond Leaves in Isopods’ vivarium can also help them thrive in their new home.

They also like to hide, so providing some wood and leaf litter works best. Isopods are detritivores and eat dried leaves as their food. These leaves also aid in maintaining the ideal humidity level of their surroundings. Here’s a quick guide on how to use our Catappa leaves Rinse before use, even after boiling or soaking. You may also do an added step of soaking the leaves in freshwater after boiling.

For a quicker process, you may opt to boil it for 5 to 10 minutes before adding it to the tank After 1 to 2 days, leaves will settle down Change these leaves during your weekly maintenance These leaves are also ideal for aquariums with fish, and the perfect ratio is 10 leaves per 12 gallons / 50 liters The most common way to use Indian Almond Leaves is by dropping them into the enclosure and letting them do their job effortlessly. You may tear them in pieces.

An absolute must for a bioactive tank. I do wish there was a bit more leaf litter but this is not a bad amount for the price! Always boil your leaves for extra precaution!! 🤍

I use these leaves in my tarantula habitats and I love them! It really pains me to purchase leaves for some reason. Mostly because I can get these from my oak tree in my back yard but I just don’t have the time to sterilize them. The bag came completely full of sterilized, fully-intact leaves that I know are safe for my tarantulas! I feel like I can justify spending money on leaves with this brand since I get a good quantity at a great price.

These are so great for amphibians, snails, and fish alike. I found this package in particular a very good deal. They're much smaller leaves and you get many more it makes putting them into the baby snail separator floating tank much easier and they're WHOLE. I do not want to cut huge leaves down to save money, that just like guarantees particles getting everywhere. These stay together nice and whole the entire time they're in my tank even when I miss one and it stays in the tank longer than it needs to they don't instantly crumble or break down but you can see the tannins in the water when used correctly you can use a activated carbon soak with the leaves to help lower the amount of tannins you'll be putting in the water or just add some activated carbon to your filter but be aware this lessens their anti bacterial properties and thus their much of their usefulness as their antibacterial properties is one of the reasons I suggest always having it on hand for axolotls! ♡ Also the leaves appeared whole and nice without any visable wholes from being eaten by pests or trampled, they were definately harvested and dried well as they do not have a unpleasant smell and it is clear that they're quality leaves and they perform like they're quality. I have cured small cuts that seemed to have a small amount of fungus evident on the cut by the small black mark where the cut (tried to eat the tongs or attack the tongs idk lol) but the leaves alone cleared up all the infection so they're very effective as for their slime coat replenishment abilities they definately perform well there as well they slime up really nicely and that's why the snails love them so much 👍🏻

Like people say its not that many leaves, but for my purposes it works fine. I bought these because I've had accidents with my isopods where foraged items have had pesticides and it haunts me, so I want to make sure I'm giving them clean food. I'll update if anything happens but I'm hoping things will just be normal lol
