Had cheap LED bulbs and noticed that there was almost no difference between parking and brake/turn brightness. These work great - distinct difference when brake/turn signals, just like original incandescent bulbs.
huh what wassthat?

I had one tail light / brake light burn out. it was an incandescent bulb with no tint behind a red plastic lens. After trying a no-name brand, I bought these. The LEDs were red because I specifically bought them that way.I installed only one of the bulbs, and went to where I knew there was a big office building with large sheets of glass. With the office lights off and because it was dusk, I was easily able to do an A/B comparison using my vehicle's mirrors.Bottom line, the one LED was as bright as the incandescent bulb. The only odd thing is that the LED bulb came on faster than the incandescent. This is suppose to offer the people following you a couple extra feet of notice if you ever have to stop suddenly.I arrived home and replaced the remaining incandescent with the other LED bulb. 100% satisfied with this purchase. In theory, these should not "burn out" during the remaining life of this vehicle.

States 2.5 watts, but package shows 1.3/0.4 watts, bulb says 1.7W (both on). The difference between 'running' and brake is significant: 0.4watts vs 1.3watts. A running wattage of 0.4watts seems much lower than other bulbs, although it seems bright enough. Better LED likely. The LED tilts toward the socket (inspect side view photo), so not very efficient if a reflector isn't present. No light is emitted out the end (see end view photo with metal block), so if bulb is not mounted horizontally, there may be very little light.I was unaware the package states 'For Off Road Use Only'.

I had a pair of LUYED bulbs. They were very bright but you couldn't tell when I was pressing the brake with those. With these the light output difference between when you are pressing the break vs regular output was perfect and very visable to drivers behind me.

Replaced my Tj 05 Jeep bulbs and these new LED work GREAT, a supper improvement over old std bulbs. I feel it will allow my vehicle to be seen better and therefore I feel safe driving on the back country roads. A flasher replacement had be installed as an upgrade for the LED's. They do seem brighter and the STOP light is really brighter.

I had a break light that would repeatedly burn out. I used this to replace the old style bulbs and it has been two months now and seems to be working great.

Switched out the factory incandescent out for these on my 88 suzuki samurai and very happy with how bright an full the lenses are now compared to the partial filling the old bulbs did.Note these don't look like the picture they had switched to another design that uses fewer BRIGHTER leds with a arrangement that works best if you have the reflectors still in your housing.

Only in for one day. If they fail prematurely, will re-evaluate - hence, only 4 stars for now. They're a big improvement color-wise to the standard edison bulb in a red housing. Clear, deep red. Looks fancy and gives older tail-light housing a makeover, lol. Perfect tail light brightness when viewed straight on but not abnoxious from sides like others. And there's a "huge" brightness difference between brake light on/off for those wondering. Most of these 1157 brake bulbs fail in that area. Not these! They cost more but they work! If that's important to you, look no further. Height is same as standard edison bulb. Some of these 1156/7 bulbs are so tall, they wouldn't fit in our tail-light housing. They have built-in heat-sinks for when you're keeping your foot on the brake in traffic I suppose. A design plus. Sure hope they hold up longer than all the other led's that have let us down. Crossing our fingers. So far - would order again.
