Simple and functional, this authentic, handcrafted Moroccan cooking Tagine is ready to be used for your next flavorful and exotic Moroccan meal. The Tagine is to be use on the top of electrical or glass stove or inside the stove. If you have a gas stove with flames please use a protective metal piece to protect your Tagine from cracking. HOW TO CURE A TAGINE? It is necessary that it is seasoned before initial use. Please follow these simple instructions below for maximum results: 1. WATER: The new tagine needs to be first submerged in water for at least 1 hour. If you can’t submerge it, place it in a clean sink bowl and slowly fill the base of the tagine with water until it stops absorbing it. Place the tagine lid on top and fill it as well. Let stand for 30 minutes to allow full absorption of water into the clay. Empty excess water and set to dry for 5 minutes. 2. OLIVE OIL: All you need is 3 table spoons of olive oil, 2 for the base and one for the lid. Spread the olive oil throughout the base and lid with your hand. 3: HEAT: While the tagine is still wet with the oil applied to it, place it in the oven as shown in the first or second photos, and set temperature at 350 F and leave for 45 minutes. The evaporation of moisture creates a vacuum effect to pull the olive oil into the clay which glazes and seals it. Then leave the tagine cool down in the turned off oven. The last photo shows a cured tagine ready for use.TAGINE MUST BE COOKED IN LOW TEMPERATURES AND A DIFFUSER IS RECOMMANDED TO AVOID BREAKAGE

I have three old town jeans that I have used for years. I decided to get two new tagines so that I had more cooking capacity for Christmas. I bought two of these. Both of them cracked with the first use, while my old ones are still going strong. So clearly I know how to use a Tagine and clearly these are defective.

This tagine is worthless. After carefully following the instructions for seasoning and using a diffuser over our gas burner, the tagine bottom cracked in several places during the first use. Clearly, it was a waste of money. We now have the top as a decorative piece in our kitchen but don't have a functioning tagine!

Always wanted to try to cook with one of these.... I love it. Shipping was so fast I wondered if they already had it boxed and addressed to me while waiting for me to decide to actually purchase. Functual as well as pretty. Prepared several dishes so far.

It is beautiful. I made my first Tagine and it was perfect! I love it and can't wait to use it again!

I followed the instructions, used a heat diffuser and the bottom cracked clear through. It's pretty to look at, but non-functinal

When I ordered this I was so very much looking forward to using it. I was extremely disappointed upon receiving it, though. The bottom of the Tagine had a crack in it that ran more than halfway across the bottom of the Tagine dish that holds the food. Hence, I was unable to use it. Now it sits on my counter top collecting dust. It is a very heavy item and the cost of shipping really makes the item not worthy of returning. I would not consider ordering from this company again due to the item arriving broken and unusable. I had to think for a great deal of time before writing this review. Finally decided that it is better to notify others to beware of ordering from this particular company.

This Tajine Pot was too awkward and too heavy for me to physically bring home from the Marrekesh Market, so I got the idea of ordering on line through Amazon when I returned home from Morocco. I am so pleased with the pot. It is authentic to what is used in Morocco and I didn't have to cart it home in my suitcase. It arrived very quickly and was packed very well.
