So far so good. Nice price for a 1TB, but we'll see how the quality holds up.

This is one of the best SSD's ive ever bought. And for such a cheap price! Works very fast and was easy to install. Had this drive for almost a year now and it's going strong. No problems here, definitely recommend!!

This SSD works awesome!! Highly, HIGHLY recommend!! Built and works great!! I’ve had this drive for 1 year and 3 months and still doing great. Upgraded an older computer and use this drive and run a mainly media server type setup(along with other computer component upgrades well) and I can’t say enough good this about this SSD.. fast load up times and yeah.. great quality!! 10/10

Used it for a few days. Works well but you are getting what you paid for. That means it is not top of the line SSD. There are faster products out there but also more expensive.Sequential read and write tests are nice but not really representative of real world performance.I've read a review of this SSD before purchasing and the review basically stated that it is an average product compared to others but the price is also "average" compared to others. The reviewer confirmed the top sequential speeds that are advertised and my own benchmark software shows that too. What struck me in the review was something I have not really thought about previously when approaching SSD performance. While pure (100%) reads and pure writes are fast. Once you have a mix of read & write requests, that is where an average SSD is separated from a top one. Even at 99% read and 1% write the performance starts to degrade and it is the lowest at 50% read/write.I have a Samsung 850 Pro 256gb SATA, Samsung 850 EVO 500gb SATA, Samsung 970 Pro 512gb NVMe and now this Vulcan Z 1tb.For all these drives I took a 21GB file and copied it within the same directory on my PC. The exception being 850 EVO which was tested on an 8 year old laptop which can lead to lower performance. This simulates a 50% read/write scenario where the drive reads data and then writes it back to itself until the file is copied (cloned essentially). In between the tests I have restarted Windows because otherwise the next test would have read the file from RAM (cached by windows on first test) instead of the disk. The results below are what I call a "stable" transfer. Initially the transfer will be faster, then as internal SSD caches are filled the transfer will stabilize at a lower value.Samsung 970 Pro (NVMe) stabilized at 700MB/sec.Samsung 850 Pro (SATA) stabilized at 200MB/sec. The file took 1min30sec to copy (windows copy window disappeared).Samsung 850 EVO (SATA) stabilized at ~180MB/sec. The file took 1min40sec to copy.Vulcan Z (SATA) was jumping between 60-90MB/sec, no stable transfer. The file took 3min30sec to copy. All drives, with exception of NVMe where I did not pay attention to this, took up to an additional 1 minute (drive still registered writes) to move over cached remainder of the file which was not done at full drive speed, not sure why.For an OS drive I recommend the Samsung Pro (gaming pc) or Samsung EVO (laptop). Not sure if I would want a Vulcan Z as my OS drive and I'm not using it as such. There appears to be no temperature sensor on the Vulcan Z as 33C is constantly being reported even by the TeamGroup SMART Tool. My other SSDs vary in temperature over time but Volcan Z never does, not once, even when testing or after a cold boot. It doesn't bother me but that is a fact. Finally, the serial number written on the drive (correct one) and reported by software is different. Again not a big deal but would make it easier to check warranty without accessing the physical drive.

I needed an SSD for an emulation setup and this fits the bill. It works great, and it is in the middle when it comes to price. It is not the fastest, but a Samsung or any other brand will be at least double the price for this one.It doesn't overheat, and it provides an adequate reading/ writing speed. No bad sectors/ dead sections so far, so I think it will last a while. If you are looking for a reliable, middle of the road SSD, this one is for you. However, if you need something to put your main OS on or store games for Steam, GOG, or any other platform, maybe you should look elsewhere.

I hesitate to review a hard drive until it has done its job for a good long time. This comes from my IT background where we used to burn in the spinning to make sure they were good. I’ve had this for awhile now so I feel comfortable giving a review. I bought this because at the time the price was unbeatable. I use it to store movies and music as well as my extensive PC game collection. So far it has worked beautifully. It was very easy to install and my PC had no problems picking it up and formatting it. Know that all you will get is the drive so you will have to come up with screws to mount it in your case. It’s fast enough to play videos and works very well to run my games. So far happy with my purchase and love the amount of storage that it has provided.

So From what I gather, Team Group used to make an SSD just like this called the "Vulcan" and it sold for the same price (maybe even less?) and IT HAD DRAM. DRAM is good for performance, especially on a desktop computer. Since I'm using mine in an NVR, I don't really care about random write performance that much. So I bought 4 of these. They use a plastic chassis, and are packaged in a skimpy box - just like every other cheap SSD I've used.Ok, special call out: The 2TB model advertises a TBW of 1600. That's pretty impressive.Performance is good. My Ubiquiti Unifi NVR doesn't recognize the SMART drive health status so it doesn't tell me a health percentage on the webpage, but in smartctl I could see that info so that's good enough. Performance is terrific! Exactly what I was hoping for, given the price.
