This is a fantastic rod. Unfortunately, the rod broke where the tip and the second section join. Tenkara USA provides full lifetime warranty, though. Having been through so much nonsense with trying to get warranty service of any sort, I was skeptical. However, I contacted Tenkara USA service and got the replacement in just a couple of days. In my 73 years on this planet, I have never gotten better service. Thank you Tenkara USA! Talk about standing behind your product!

I have caught, tiny trout, big trout, all kinds of sunfish, largemouth bass up to 2-3lbs and even catfish with this rod, it is an excellent all round rod for streams, small to medium rivers and still water. I have caught well over 500 fish with this rod and it is my go to rod, sensitive and strong. However it is still a tenkara rod, most of these types of rods are not made for salmon or large fish, if you are going to fish for those bigger fish don’t use too heavy a line or you are putting the rod at risk, this applies to all tenkara rods not just the Ito. If you want a rod that can handle heavy lines and big fish check out Wasatch Tenkara they have some beefy rods made for big strong fish like salmon

I have a few tenkara rods but this is the rod I use most of the time and I almost exclusively use it fully extended. I fish it in a variety of situations using a 2.5 level line for tight line nymph fishing, using indicators and tapered nylon leader for dry fly fishing or dry/dropper. The rod is a very well made and it has handled some decent sized fish (trout up to 19 inches) with no issue.

Feels light even given it's length. Very sensitive yet strong enough backbone to land bigger fish; perhaps not salmon as mentioned in the 2-star review below, but can easily manage 12-18" trout.

Good for panfish, bad for salmon- I snapped my overly priced rod in half. Like I said, panfish good, salmon bad
