I guess I need a bigger bucket. It would take 2 gallons just to reach this thing, 2 1/2 to cover. That's wasting too much product.Update, my cheap bucket from Wally is only 9 3/4" across resulting in guard being 5 1/2" from bottom. Bought an orange HD bucket which is 10" across. Guard is now

I've struggled for a year trying to keep Chemicals Guys' grit guard in their branded buckets for a year, and I finally had to trash them and go for these Detail Guardz, which were recommended by Pan the Organizer on YouTube. They truly are the BEST because the rubberized clips on the bottom hold them in place inside the buckets of water or solution. I won't buy anything else from now on!

Seems to work well; it sits a bit high in a 5-gallon bucket, but it gets the job done. Great for thoroughly rinsing wash mitts. I haven’t taken the time to analyze the residual water, but the shape is ideal, preventing debris from coming back up. Nice gadget if you love your car!

Overall, good heavy duty plastic. It fits perfectly in Lowe’s 5 gallon bucket with the rubber spacers removed. Fully seats to the bottom of the bucket with no movement. Seems like it will work great and hold up well.

I tried spraying water full force at these at the top and then at the bottom, and it was easy to see how much the top lets through but the bottom doesn't. These are a great design and actually do trap dirt. They're awkward to pull out of your bucket, however, as the finger grips are tiny and the the solid design means the traps really stick tight to the edges.
