The Original Slinky Walking Spring Toy, 2.75-inch Diameter Metal Slinky, Fidget Toys

I chose this slinky because of the material it is made from. The metal does not corrode in the weather and the metal is durable. Ok, I don't use these as a toy, I use them on my bird feeders. My feeders are on a post stuck into the ground. I hang the slinky over the pole. This prevents squirrels from climbing the pole and raiding my bird feeder.This works well and the slinky holds up in all weather.

I hate having to write this, but don’t buy this “original slinky” expecting it to be the same thing you played with as a kid. It’s smaller or shorter or lighter (or all of these). I tried showing my daughter how it goes down stairs, but it doesn’t. It also doesn’t roll from one hand to the other as well as the old ones. Still fun, but not what I wanted.

It seems like there was a decent amount of factory lubricant from when it was made still on the slinky’s so it got on your hands and kind of stunk. No biggie for me but don’t let your toddler put it in their mouth right out the box. You might want to wipe it down first. Other than that it seems like the original slinky and the 3 pack seems like a decent value.

The kid loves slinky's, but if you have ever used one, you know what happens to them. We started buying them in multi packs like this because a slinky is good for about 1-3 play sessions before it's bent out of shape, no matter the manufacturer. Amazon price is good, delivery is fast.

its slinkey, its slinky, what a wonderful toy. its fun for a girl or a boy!the slinky is a classic toy that was born in the spirit of fun in what was some pretty dark times. during world war 2 there was a couple machinists who were seeing how deep of a cut they could take with the metal lathe, the ended up making the first ever slinky while screwing off.while the slinky never was good at going down multiple stairs unless the rise and run were the perfect pitch, I remember trying for hours experimenting different heights and lengths to make it work. it inspired imagination and inginuity. i would recommend locking any teenager in a room with one and seeing what happens (get video and share please).

I mean, the Slinky is great, very sturdy, exactly as advertised.If you want to play with it yourself you should clean it a bit first, as is to be expected on an item like that.For my intended purpose, the defense of a bird feeder, it did not exactly impress our little rascal here ;-)
