It was one of only a couple of microwaves that would fit in my existing cabinets. Needless to say I was a little concerned. Fortunately, it not only fit, but is an awesome microwave!!!! I am very pleased with its functions and performance. Couldn't be happier.

Less wear & tear on my wrist tendonitis not having to press all the buttons like other MWs. Perfect size & easy to set up. Inside of handle needs to be pressed to open but it's not hard to do.

Love this microwave which I have had for over 5 years and it still works great!!Pros: Energy Saving ECO Mode when I’m not using it. 30sec start or add to time. Auto Settings for recipes. Easy to Clean. Microwaves meals quickly due to 1100 W. BUT BEST OF ALL IS THE ABILITY TO CONTROL IT THROUGH ALEXA!! I don’t even have to be in the same room to tell the microwave to do its thing. Stop, start, cook on high for X minutes then switch to a different power level for X minutes. If I have my hands full and I just want to add 30 secs, just tell Alexa. Personally I will never have another microwave without Alexa because of the convenience. I’ve accidentally left my coffee in the microwave and gone to my home-office and I’ll tell Alexa to reheat my Coffee and by the time I get back to the kitchen, it is nice and hot and ready to drink! Also I know this is a small thing but I love the handle on the door. I’ve had microwaves with that little push button thing to open the door and they all eventually break. The microwave still works, but you can’t open the door. That’s why I like a handle on my microwave door.CONs: There aren’t any!Now I want an Alexa compatible Toshiba microwave that is a convection oven, can Air-Fry, Grill, and has a handle on the Door! So come on Toshiba!! Give us a product that does it all because you make long lasting quality products and with MATTER it will be simple for even those people who complained they couldn’t get Alexa to work. Can’t wait to buy your upgraded version of this high quality microwave!

my mom's caregivers have one night off a week, so it's me and my elderly, memory impaired mom heating up food in the microwave on wednesday nights. until now, we were using the costco panasonic 1.3 cu microwave. it's interesting how the design can mean night and day for a user like my mom.to make the panasonic usable, we put 3 colored stickers to help guide her to what to press. but now that we have the google assistant enabled toshiba, she simply puts the food in, and i turn on the microwave with the proper settings from thousands of miles away. ding! food is ready without any raised voices or hair pulled.i think overall this interface is really preferable to the panasonic and quite well thought out. most importantly, there is a genuine pull handle--not a push eject button. for elderly, finding yet another hidden button is torture. everyone knows what a pull handle is! also, for in person operation, i love that you simply press the START/30 second button and it starts cooking. that's pretty much most of what i do. with the panasonic you have to first press a 30 second button and then press a start button. over a human's life, that's 2 trillion presses i have saved.lastly, the clock sets itself. we just never bothered setting our panasonic's, because it was simply a matter of time before the power did something and we'd have to reset it again.if only the toshiba was sold in a place that had costco return policies, then it'd be heavenly. but still, it's a better deal overall than our previous costco microwave. if you are remotely helping someone prepare food, this is the only remote controlled microwave that utilizes a handle interface as of 8/2022

When we first bought this microwave, I had a bit of trouble setting it up but eventually was able to make it work using the MSmartLife app as recommended in the instructions. However, as others have noted, it worked for a couple of days (long enough to get us addicted to the feature) and then stopped working. I struggled with it for several days and eventually convinced Amazon to take it back. We got a replacement and I could not get it to connect to Alexa at all. I phoned customer support at Amazon and I have to give them 5 stars. The person walked me through the procedure to fix the problem and it worked. This involved unplugging the microwave, reconnecting to MSmartLife, then disabling the MSmartLife skill in Alexa and re-enabling the skill. Following this it worked. The photo was taken after asking Alexa to microwave for 2 1/2 minutes and as you can see it worked. I don’t know if I will have to redo this every two days but will post an update in a week or two. The microwave itself is great but the Alexa feature, when it works is fabulous.Update: a week later, I have had to reprogram Alexa—just disabling MSmartLife and re-enabling seems to work. Other Canadians have indicated that this app doesn’t work in Canada, but so far, it has worked for us.

Bought it to replace after kitchen reno .Easier for gramma etc to use with Alexa as it advertises on the header .I just was in contact with Amazon regarding not being able to connect the microwave. It needs to be updated and a disclaimer that Alexa Skills does not support Toshiba microwave app in Canada .Just packed up to return the Echo and quite disappointed because this was the reason I purchased this microwave.

I loved this microwave until it stopped responding to Alexa commands after two weeks of use. I have tried everything I know to do to fix this problem and nothing works. It is connected to my wi-fi, my MSmartLife app and paired with my Alexa app. I have tried unplugging it, deleting the apps and reinstalling them and it still will not respond to Alexa commands. It responds to touch commands from the MSmartLife app on my phone, so I know it is connected. Every time I use a voice command however, Alexa says "ummm, the microwave is not responding". Very frustrating as this feature is what convinced me to buy the microwave in the first place. Everything else works fine, but not being able to use it with Alexa is disappointing.I am editing my review to say that the microwave is working perfectly with Alexa now because I upgraded my internet connection. It turns out I had too many devices connected to it (including my home security system and my Ecobee smart thermostat) and it wasn't strong enough to handle them all at the same time. Once I upgraded my internet, it all works great and I absolutely love this microwave!

This microwave is enormous. My husband and I had a fight because the microwave wouldn't fit in its designated area, suspended over the counter. About 1cm of it is hanging out, but other than that, it is gorgeous, very potent (we have to put less time than regular microwaves, otherwise it boils), it is silent (you can completely turn off the sound, but even when it is on, it is just one short beep, which is great when you have a baby sleeping). It is beautiful, easy to use, and clean. Very much pleased with this product.

Original Review: I bought this to replace a similar 11 YO Panasonic that failed. So far I really like this unit. Looks nice, works well, bright interior light, handle rather than push button door (hated the push button on the old one). But the killer feature is Alexa control. Setting this up is is a bit of a nightmare (see review of the related skill) but once set up it's FANTASTIC. This has to be the best and most genuinely practical use for Alexa I've found. There's no reason to ever push a button since everything can be easily voice controlled. Very pleased I opted for an oven with this feature. Two Month update: downgraded to 4 stars because Alexa feature operation is spotty (can't find the unit). Alexa worked great for a little over a month and now works only about half the time. (it works one day and not the next) The unit can be controlled from the Midea app very reliably even when the Alexa feature is not working, so the oven and my network are fine - the fault is on the Amazon side. This is more than a minor inconvenience because the manual controls are not overly intuitive. I guarantee you won't get it to cook for just 20 seconds without closely reading the manual...hint it takes 5 button pushes (most ovens require just 3)
