A little difficult to use if you have never used them but, once you get the hang of handling them, they are well worth the price.

I was not happy when my employee discovered that she could loosen the tri-groove nuts with an pair of channel locks.

Four roll up doors on my new shop building had locks designed to be padlocked from the outside, ala storage unit doors. This would not work on a shop that would have thousands of dollars in automotive tools and equipment. So I moved the locks to the inside of the doors, but with the bolts welded to the lock plates, this left the nylon lock nuts on the outside of the building, easily removable by any would-be thief. These tri-groove nuts solved that problem perfectly. Highly unlikely that anyone getting through my security gate and making their way the 500 feet back to my shop would happen to have the matching tri-groove socket. The nuts may be expensive, but they are well worth the added security for my shop. I still think the $36+ price for the socket is ridiculous, though. Of course that could deter a thief from ordering an entire set of sockets to keep in their tool bag.
