This was recommended to me by three other moms. We have a 5 month old that doesn’t spend much time on his belly as it is difficult and he gets bored. This holds his attention for at least 30min as I use my hands to also press on it and move the water and foam toys inside, around. DO NOT leave babies unattended on this because as soon as their necks or arms get tired, they are face down, smushed onto a malleable plastic surface and this is a serious suffocation hazard.This mat works great to quickly cool him down when he is hot because the gallon or so of water in it stays cold in our house.This seems durable and did not have a very strong chemical smell. It does have a slight plastic smell, but not any more than what water wings or floaties have when you first purchase them. You do need something like a bike pump with a nozzle to inflate the air cushion frame of the product as I found it really hard to blow it up with just my mouth.

Item is great. Got it as a sensory item for my youngest son. He's still figuring it out but does like it.Easy to use and inflate but I did want to warn others of the very strong chemical smell. Not a big deal just something that I'm sensitive too and some other littles could be bothered by. It's been 2 weeks and it still smells.

Only problem with this, is that when the water is added, even if it's warm, it gets cold easily. My son doesn't like it just for that reason. And if I put a blanket over it, it defeats the purpose of the move able objects. But it was cute. And maybe when he gets older he won't mind as much about the temperature.
