I used the product one time so that I could capture footage from a PlayStation TV. It worked alright the first time. A few months later I tried it again (it was safely in storage in my office, nothing should've affected it), and now it doesn't power on.

So far works really well. A 4K and old computer monitor at 1080p, both receiving the same signal to play music from a streaming player.I docked a point for the forced barrel jack and AC adapter. There is some line buzz with it, but the input is just 5V 1A which is a simple USB power that can be supplied from a battery bank. I had to purchase a cable from USB to barrel jack and run it this way.

I have a wireless HDMI extender unit that only does 1080P output and bought this unit to take a 4K source (a Tivo Edge) and split it to a 4K home theater receiver and to 1080P for my wireless HDMI extender. This works like a charm for this use case. The signal to the receiver (the main HDMI output on the splitter) is still 4K and the signal to my HDMI extender (the second HDMI output on the splitter) is 1080P as I needed. I honestly can't comment on whether all audio is being passed properly or ARC works, but as a splitter with downscaling, it does work. So far, I am happy I was able to find a solution to my needs with this device.

I had previously used HDMI/optical splitters, but I had a more difficult problem this time around: My expensive 11.2 channel receiver's HDMI out ports had been killed by a power surge. Audio still works fine. Needed to get an HDMI signal to my projector while still getting a HDMI with advanced audio formats (Dolby Digital Plus / Atmos) to the receiver. The U9 box did exactly that. Attached the HDMI output from a Roku Express 4K to the U9 box input, Out 1 to the AVR, and Out 2 to the projector. U9's switch set to "Out 1" (although I suspect Auto would have worked as well).Eureka! Great picture to the projector, and the receiver sees the correct signal from the U9 to allow it to automatically switch to the correct sound mode.Repairing the HDMI out on the receiver would have been $800, minimum (been there, done that), plus the roundtrip to a service center. This was a $30 solution.

Easy to use, read the instructions for 2160p and 1080p screens setups, once you understand how the setup works, it works seamless. Have 4k max fire stick plugged directly into input and working on 3 screens seamlessly

I don't write reviews often...let me preface that I ordered 5 other 4K splitters at the time of need and this particular model (including another U9 model) was the nicest build. The material is metal (as opposed to some being plastic) and all of the connections being on one side is a plus. With some other units, I had cables going in and out on both ends and it made for an awkward placement in my media cabinet. There are very bright blue indicator lights that are ALWAYS on when the unit is plugged into power. This was remedied by a piece of black electrical tape.My need for this product was because I have a 2009 Pioneer AVR that only includes a 1080p output back to the tv. As such, I needed to be able to split my 4K video signal from my Nvidia Shield Pro (2019 model) to both my 4K Dolby Vision TV (Sony X900H) and also passthrough the HD audio (Dolby TrueHD and DTS-MA) to my receiver for processing. The bottom of the unit has printed scenarios and indicates the various rocker switch configurations depending on your needs. My setup above required the 4th configuration. In summary, I had to push the EDID switch down from "AUTO" to "OUT1" and the "AVR" switch and the "4K TO 1080p" switch needed to be ON.Once I did that the Shield/TV indicated that Dolby Vision was available and asked if I wanted to use it. After a few seconds, the Shield properly output Dolby Vision to the TV. I was able to check this in both Disney+ content and also files I have on my media server playing back within Kodi (Leia 18.9 build).I've watched a few films thus far on the Kodi and finished watching WandaVision on Disney+ and the U9 ViewHD UHD1X2SA simply works. It allows me to continue receiving HD audio from my older AVR while getting the best picture possible from my Shield and 4K TV.I reached out to customer service twice as I was unsure of which model I needed to buy in order to get the results above. I received an email the same day and was told the ViewHD UHD1X2SA was the way to go for my setup. The customer service even went as far as calling me to discuss my setup at length. Upon receiving the unit I didn't get the rocker switches correct and reached out to customer service once more. They advised the same day how they needed to be set up and I was good to go.I would highly recommend the ViewHD UHD1X2SA if you need a high quality 4K splitter with great customer service at a very good price.

I've been fighting a battle for quite awhile now to send a duplicate signal between our main 4K TV and a 1080P TV in a different room. For some sources it would work fine. For other sources, the video would be great but there would be no audio at all. For some other sources, I'd get no video or audio. This little box solved ALL of those issues. The setup on this splitter / extractor is very straight-forward, HOWEVER, be aware that Port 1 does not offer downscaling. I had our 1080P TV hooked up to Port 1 on the ViewHD Splitter and wasn't having any luck. I then switched to Port 2 and everything looked AND sounded perfect. I had initially missed the small print in the manual where it clearly states that Port 1 does not support downscaling. Had I seen that right away, the whole setup would have taken about 5 minutes. Because I missed that bit of information, the setup took me maybe 10 minutes total, even with my mistake of trying to use Port 1 at first.I am delighted with this little box and will likely purchase another for a similar setup at my son's house.Highly Recommended if you're trying to share a signal between a 4K TV and a second, lower resolution set.
