Question

Question 1: How should I adjust the sensitivity?

Answer: Adjust the sensitivity of the receiver to the minimum and keep slowly turning it up during the measurement until it can be accurately located to the break.

----------------------------------------------------------

Question 2: Does the power have to be on for the tester to work?

Answer: Yes, it must be powered on to test the circuit break, the receiver also needs to use a 9V battery to receive the signal, but it comes with the package with a 9V battery.

----------------------------------------------------------

Question 3: The receiver just beeps at all the breakers. What should i do?

Answer: Turn down the sensitivity before using it, otherwise it will beep at any break until it is adjusted to a critical point, this critical point needs to be found by you, try it a few more times and you will find break.

----------------------------------------------------------

Question 4: Will it work if there is no electricity to the socket?

Answer: No, it will not work without electricity. The socket must be connected to 90-120V mains to power the transmitter inserted into the socket.

Works ok, but takes several attempts to identify the right breaker. Have used other similar product in the past with more accurate results. The compact size makes it easier to carry than bulkier tracers.

If I could give this product a zero star review I would. In my test a 120V AC outlet wired to breaker *#27* was connected to the transmitter unit but the device receiver- at the breaker panel- instead, erroneously called out (beeped) at breaker number *#33*, a 15A breaker, 3 breakers distant (in between were breakers #29 and #31, receiver was silent on breakers #27, #29 and #31) on the panel from 20A breaker #27, as the connected circuit. I had followed the instructions closely regarding adjusting the detector sensitivity. [Note: Subsequent testing showed pretty random results. In no instance did the tracker actually detect the correct breaker on my panel.] Perhaps it is only my unit that is faulty, but I cannot recommend this product.[Update 2024-Aug-27] I requested and promptly received a replacement product. The replacement unit performs just as poorly- as a circuit breaker detector- as the first unit I received. My only explanation is this product may work on some electrical panels and not others. Our house was completely re-wired, including a new panel, in 2022- so it is up to current NEC.

Everything worked good. I tried using it downstairs at a different level. Worked intermittently.
