It is made of the finest quality brass by highly experienced, skilled craftsmen. With reasonable care, this musical instrument will last a lifetime. As specified by the quartermaster crop of the U.S. Army in 1882, U.S. Regulation Bugles are built in the key of g with a tuning slide that will bring it down to the key of f. It is easy to play and sounds just the way you know it should. You can play every official bugle call on your U.S. Regulation Bugle. If it doesn't have US regulation bugle stamped on the bell, it's not the real thing .

I use this to play taps for Honors. Sound quality is great. I don't need to warm up for 30 min like I did on my trumpet. After a few notes this is good to go!

A beautiful instrument that is a good sounding pleasure to play. In the hands of a good brass musician, it’s a sound to behold. It’s not a cheap look alike but rather a high quality precision made instrument. Don’t waste your money on a Chinese horn, spend the money and get a real bugle. This is the real thing, pride of ownership is what it’s all about. When I play Butterfield’s Lullaby (taps) for a fallen veteran, only the real thing will do. A real combat veteran playing just 24 perfect notes. Rest In Peace, brother. It’s the least I can do.

I purchased this bugle for my son who wanted to play for his troop. The troop has a US Regulation bugle that must be about 60 years old and still sounds great, but is a bit worse for wear being toted around with a scout troop. I purchased one in nickel and one in brass and they are both spectacular. The nickel silver looks stunning with a gold bugle cord. The soft case (sold seperately) makes it easy for him to carry and protects it well. The sound is clear and bright. He mastered all the bugle calls quite easily on this instrument, earned his merit badge, and has since moved on to the trumpet and french horn. I would reccomend this instrument to any new or experienced player.

We received the bugle very quickly and in perfect condition. My husband practices daily and hopes to be able to play taps at the veterans' funerals in his legion post.

I purchased this bugle for my 16 year old son so that he could learn Taps and play at military funerals. I purchased it because it was reasonably priced and figured that even if it wasn't any good that I wouldn't be out much money. It met or maybe even exceeded my expectations. It has a very good sound and is loud. My 13 year old son was excited about the bugle as well. He couldn't wait to open the box. By the time I made it home from work he had already taught himself Taps, not perfect, but pretty good. I am now contemplating purchasing another bugle so that the two of them could perform Taps together creating an echo of Taps. Anyway, I would recommend the purchase of this bugle. I believe it is well worth the money.
