However, to determine the exact holding strength, we recommend pull testing prior to use. This step ensures the proper selection of materials, the correct pressing procedure and an adequate margin of safety for the intended use.

Looked everywhere on the listing but there was no mention of the metallurgy. Figured for the price and lack of description it was regular carbon rod. Just took it out of the package to finish my project and couldn't dent it with an expensive set of drill bit. In very light lettering on the side of the rod it says 5x100 HSS. Now to wait till this hurricane is over to get this done and shipped out.

I was missing a part for one of my projects and these rods were the perfect size to make a new part. These appear to be made from good quality Stainless steel. Great price too!

Solid and accurate 5mm rods. Came well protected, no chance for rust or corrosion on them. And they're all cleanly cut and perfectly straight too. Exactly what I needed them to be!

strong should last for a long time that's the point in them

These are high speed steel. Same steel used in drill bits and cutters. Cutting or shaping is limited to using a grinder or cut off wheel. I needed aluminum, my own fault for not reading more carefully.

Kam in einem normalen Versandumschlag an, pünktlich. Die Stäbchen entsprachen exakt dem Durchmesser und waren absolut gerade

I just got done cutting the 100mm rod down to 50mm. It might as well have been made of adamantium. Hacksaws didn't even scratch it. The metal destroyed one of my lathe tools and damaged another. Finally I found the only thing that could cut it: an angle grinder, followed by a bench grinder to ease the edges and a belt sander to clean up the colorful oxide layer. So much work for such a simple cut. The product description really should mention that it's not just regular "metal".

Good quality, straight, but slightly inconsistent sized pieces.

Hardened steel it seems. Very hard and straight. Tolerances are spot on for the most part. Tiny variation in diameter across the length on some but not noticeable.
