I was a promark player for 25 years. I switched to Vater about 15 year ago and haven't looked back. Great feel and balance, and always straight. I'm a rim-shot player and hit with authority. The sticks hold up very, very well.I always played 5B's with a barrel tip. I like these better. They're a little longer and heavier, but seem to provide more balance and control. The tips also make cymbals ring nicely. You can't lose by trying them.Let's hope that Vater doesn't follow the business model of so many companies: i.e., Ruin their brand by cutting corners and/or outsourcing the manufacture of their products to the cheapest, slave-labor country available. Quality matters, and people will pay more for quality products.

I love these sticks! The extra length is nice and the tips have really good articulation on the cymbals. I love the balance. Wish Vater had a loyalty program like pro-mark (D'addario), however these are usually about $5 cheaper than the other name brand sticks so I guess it evens out.

Vater has been my go to sticks for a few years. I love the feel and balance they give. I have used the big name sticks for the big money they cost. I prefer vater. They would also be good for beginners who tend to chop them up on cymbals. They are a great stick and most inexpensive to replace.

I used to play Vic Firth 2b wood tip and I wanted to change things up and go lighter to improve stick speed.Despite loving nylon tip, I always shied away from them because the tips would pop off. VATER has changed the game in that department with their build and construction process. The nylon tip becomes part of the stick rather than a glued-on adhesive part. The stick will break before the tip will and coming from personal experience, this is true. So, there you have it, a solid, lightweight stick that takes a serious beating from a metal drummer and lasts the tests of time at a more than affordable price. Bonus, your tips won't break off. So, when another company asks you to play the game, "Just the Tip", just SAY NO!!!

I've been through so many different stick manufacturers with so many variations in length and diameter. I've struggled to find "my perfect pair," however after acquiring these Vater Power 5A nylon tipped sticks, the search has finally ended. These sticks have the perfect length and diameter that I have narrowed down to what feels best in my hands...16 1/2" and .580 diameter. The taper at the front of the stick is not too short and it's not too long, allowing just enough weight in the front to feel like you have some throw, but not so front heavy that you get fatigued. They have a great rebound. I used to have such a problem purchasing Vater sticks in the past where the weight and / or tone pairing was soooo off. But I've ordered four pairs of these sticks from Amazon recently and all four pairs were perfectly matched by weight and pitch. Not sure if Vater tightened up their variances, or what. I started using these nylon tipped sticks after doing some research because I use mesh drum heads on my acoustic kit. I love the feel and the tone of these nylon tipped sticks. And the best part of these Vater sticks is the incredible durability of these sticks. They are very strong and show very little cymbal wear after going to town on these sticks for a week and a half or so. Love these sticks. Think I have finally found my go-to!

I have been playing drums off and on for about 20 years or so and I had never tried Vater sticks. I usually use the Pro Mark with the Japanese Oak (can't remember the actual name of them think the first word is Shizu but I could be wrong.) or I would use Vic Firth's. I usually use 5A as they aren't too heavy but they are bulky and durable, so that's what I got these Vater sticks in as well. So far I have used them off and on as my Pro Marks I started earlier are beasts and just keep going but I've used these and they are good don't get me wrong but I know me playing heavy rock/metal music they aren't going to last as long as Pro Mark for sure they MIGHT outlast Vic Firth time will tell. They are worth buying and trying cause the price is cheap and maybe it's just me but I honestly was hoping that they would be a lot better than they were. Just my opinion though.
