The cover was easy to replace. No hardware supplied or needed. Put a light coat of grease on the lifting arm and it'll work a lot smoother. A phillips screwdriver was all I used to remove trim inside. As for durability, time will tell. I dropped it once and it didn't break, so that's a start. The original one I had apparently cracked during winter. I found out during a steady rain in the spring.
