About this item

  • SPEED / CADENCE MEASUREMENT - Track and capture real-time cycling speed and cadence with compatible training apps, including Wahoo SYSTM & RGT, Zwift, and Peloton Digital iOS App via Bluetooth.
  • CYCLING CADENCE - The number of revolutions per minute (RPM) you complete at a given speed. By learning how to increase and train your cycling cadence, or the rate at which you pedal, you’ll improve your cycling efficiency and allow yourself to pedal for longer, faster.
  • DUAL BAND TECHNOLOGY - Integrated with ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart capabilities, Wahoo’s RPM Speed & Cadence sensors connect to smartphones, tablets, and bike computers.
  • SLEEK AND EASY TO INSTALL (NO MAGNETS) - Universal fit fits most bikes and frame sizes. Cadence sensor attaches to a bike’s crank arm or shoe; Speed sensor attaches to a bike's wheel hub. Mounts included.
  • VISIBLE CONNECTION – Two LED lights give instant feedback: the sensor's device connection (blue) and RPM detection (one red blink per crank turn).

The Wahoo RPM Cadence Sensor is a wireless, magnet-less, lightweight, cadence sensor. This sleek, Bluetooth 4.0 and ANT+ enabled cadence sensor is easy to install, connects wirelessly to your iOS or Android device and displays your cadence data (through the free Wahoo Fitness App or other top cycling Apps such as Starve, Map My Ride and Cyclometer). Additionally, the RPM will connect to ANT+ enabled bike computers.

The Wahoo cadence sensor works well on my stationary bike, and it connects to my VR headset using Fit Immersion.

I bought this for my stationary bike so that I could ride in apps on Meta Quest 3. It instantly hooked up with each app, no problems. The only minor thing....the battery died after a couple of hours of use. So I had to replace that, which isn't all that easy once the sensor is installed on the bike with zip ties. LOL But I managed. Here's hoping the new battery lasts more like it's supposed to (a year or so of use).

I recently bought a myx bike second hand and realized pretty immediately that there was no way for me to know how fast I was pedaling (you would think that's a basic feature the bike would come with, right?!) Anyway, after researching different cadence trackers, I decided to go with the only one that would pair with the bike (this one). Ultimately, I wanted something that wasn't bulky like the one with their own screens so I but the bullet and bought the expensive option. Installation of the product was very easy, the bike was able to detect and pair with the sensor flawlessly. It is designed very sleek so you don't even notice it (attached to the inside of your pedal). Based on the speed of the videos and my pedaling, the reading seem to be accurate. It's just nice to be able to see the cadence right on my screen instead of having a separate attachment. I know the sensor has other features like tracking data on an app, but I don't use that feature. The only thing that bummed me out is that the battery it came with only had 20% battery.

Options for attachment work just fine, settled for the offside crank arm. Appears to be perfectly accurate and there's no trouble interfacing it to either Wahoo Fitness or Locus Maps. It appears you can only link it to one app at a time. It's not difficult to get access to the battery to replace it, the holder pops open with the twist of a coin in a slot on the side. The silicone rubber holder that I'd have thought would have been ideal needs to be mounted in such a way that the cable ties used to secure it would have to be removed to remove it from the holder. Which doesn't make a lot of sense to me...Apart from that, the only other gripe was that the supplied battery was at 25% on first use. But then the thing activates on movement, so I'd imagine it must have been activating on and off all the way through the delivery from the warehouse. Might be an idea to have the battery separate or insulated in the device.Incredible that they've got the sensor, BT/LE, and microcontroller all tucked away in such a small case...

Easy to install, app functions well with Android. I bought this for my bike that I have set up for indoor riding and to use with the Peloton app, which I read a lot about and has worked for many people. The thing I didn't considered until using was it's usability with Android. The wahoo app works great with Android but the Peloton app does not show cadence for Android users. So, I can only have the audio on my phone for the Peloton class while having the wahoo app open to watch my cadence. I'm working around this. Just wanted to let others know. Something I didn't like about the app was that it can not connect or send the riding information to my fit bit app directly, which means I can't record my cadence on fitbit and attach my cadence to my heart rate. My way around this is I send everything to my google fit app. Wahoo works great with the google fit app! I do recommend, getting the speed sensor and the heart monitor if you are interested in measuring your progress in terms of distance or calories burned as the cadence does not allow for this. Over all great sensor! But would like the app to be more compatible with other 3rd party apps, maybe other apps similar to Peloton that you can use the cadance for!

I haven't tried out any of its more expensive peers but I like this for what it is. It's affordable, easy to install, small, and broadcasts right to your phone. First some background, I use this on a Spin Bike in my garage. I Spin with this keeping my cadence, and using the Peloton app on my iPad for the class itself. It's a great workout and a good way to stay in shape without having to leave your house to do it.Is it easy to install? Yes. It comes with an adhesive strip as well as a cradle (if you prefer to attach it that way, I did not) that you can use to attach it directly to the crank arm of your pedal. It pops right on and I've had no issues with it staying on whatsoever. If you need/want to you can easily remove it and buy new adhesive tape from your local hardware store or CVS to reattach it somewhere else.Is it easy to get it on your phone? Yes. You just download the Wahoo Fitness app, turn on Bluetooth and connect it to the piece on the crank arm. It comes with a little metal wand you wave over the device to activate it (how it does that I don't know but when I waved it over it, it worked). You then go through a few steps to set it up the app and your (free) account and you're all set. After that when you want to use it you just go into the app and hit start workout and you're good to go.Is it accurate? To be honest, I don't know. It's definitely on a bit of a delay, you can see at times the cadence doesn't drop or increase as quickly as you do in real life but it's not a big delay, maybe a second or two. For some people I'm sure this is a big issue but for me it doesn't matter. I'm not training for a race or anything like that I'm just riding a bike in my basement and needed something cheap to use to measure how I was doing. It definitely accomplishes that and is close enough to accurate that if I were to get more serious I wouldn't be in any rush to replace it. That said, the slight delay is the reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5.Overall I'm really happy with this product and would recommend it to anybody for any stationary bike, and to most people for a road bike. For the price you can't beat it!
