Very easy to install. The thieves see them and keep going. They see the red light but don't realize they're not real.

Very cheap. Fell and broke. I guess what do you expect from a plastic fake camera.

I put these up for an elderly person and they are so real looking, they would certainly deter me ! Excellent value for the money.Just make sure that you have another person to stand in place whilst you rotate the light to the best visible location that the intruder will see it.

Got these for a security issue. We have had 8 break-ins and the police basically do nothing out in the rural area where we are. Pathetic. No finger printing, nothing. They finally at least spoke to neighbors on the 8th break-in. But at any rate that is why I got these cameras and I'm getting ready to order a set or two more as we have many areas that could use a camera decoy. 2 of the cameras when I put batteries in did not light up (reason for 4 stars instead of 5). So I looked at it closely and the contact for the battery button was not touching the battery. I just took a folded piece of tin foil and put it behind the contact to move it out further. and the camera immediately lit up. A small fix for something at a great price. We will have these outside and inside for anyone peeking through windows. But they light up brightly and blink well, so no one will miss it that is for sure. I suggest getting rechargeable batteries if you do not have them already to use with these, then you don't have to worry about the expense of batteries. If we have any issues with them holding up outside I will update this post, but they appear to be constructed well enough to use on the under side of your eves, and come with a template so you put the screws in the right place without issue. Screws are also included for instalation.

I've always balked at "fake" anything, but after a recent neighbor had their door kicked in and were robbed, I wanted something asap to make a potential thief at lest think twice about an unexpected visit. I didn't have the time to research, no less install a real security system, so looked for something as a quick stopgap security measure. This plastic unit looked promising from all the positive reviews, but the price seemed to guarantee disappointment. It arrived a few days later and lo-and-behold it's design and build are pretty convincing. It's all assembled, just open the small "door" on top and insert the 9v battery. The red LED immediately begins it's regular pulsing and behind the smoked glass it really is tough to detect if that's a real camera inside or not. It comes with two plastic anchors that you push into the ceiling after drilling the two mounting holes. Insert the two supplied screws leaving a few millimeters raised above level. Then put the housing onto the screw heads and give a slight turn to mount in place. Total installation took just a few minutes. That's all there is to it. If I had just one suggestion for the manufacturer it would be to include a mounting paper template showing the location of the screws. Since one is not included just put the dome on top of a piece of paper and draw a circle around the perimeter. Flip the paper over and locate the hole openings and make a mark or just punch your pencil through. Now hold the template you just made against the ceiling and mark the hole locations to assure correct spacing. To make things more convincing I also ordered Security Decal - 4 Pack #204 here on Amazon. Also looks menacing and serious. I've since ordered a real wireless camera system which will take the place of this fake one, but to be honest, I think just the fear of being observed and taped would have been enough to stick with the fake only. If the real camera system that cost hundreds proves disappointing and needs to be returned, I'll keep this dome at the ready. Highly recommended!
