I'm using this to track my hot water usage. Combined with a pi pico w and home assistant it provides what I wanted - an easy way to figure out what (or who) is using more hot water than expected. The calculation isn't difficult, but keep in mind that this isn't a "pulse per volume" but rather a "frequency related to flow" and you can't just count pulses and get the volume used. At very low flows it's not super accurate, but it's accurate enough for typical home usage.

This is a very good meter for the price. I bench tested it with a very accurate in-line ultrasonic meter and the performace was very good, except at very low flow rates when the accuracy dropped off. There is no mention of certification for use with potable water (NSF61) so that drops one star for me.If you are wanting a meter to know how much water is going into something like your swimming pool then this is ideal.Installation is easy to a threaded connection.Note it can only be installed horizontally. There is a version of this meter that comes with pulse output capability. This means that the meter can be automatically read (data transmitted into another platform) which is very handy if you aren't able to manually read the meter.Overall, as advertised and an excellent price. Nice built quality and works as expected. Solid 4 stars from me.

i didn't so any precise measuring with this such as filling a 330 tote and checking accuracy, but it seems fairly accurate and will be used to monitor my orchard, and homesteads water usage for any potential leaks either above ground or below.

I was skeptical at first with these water meters given the price and the fact that they’re made in China. but so far one has counted almost 10,000 gallons without skipping a beat. They seem to be very accurate, I am using them on a well pump system to monitor when the filters need to be changed and approximately how many gallons of water the pump will be pumping before failure. Overall, it was more of an experiment than anything else, the build quality seems to be very good and functionality is on par with other much more expensive water meters, overall great value for the money

I got this meter because it had a sensor output on it. So not only can I monitor consumption on the gauge, but I can couple the sensor output to a PLC and record consumption there. The description does not tell you what type of sensor is used, and when you get the meter it's only two wires which on a water meter usually means it's an inductive pickup. After examining the sensor closer, it's a simple reed switch (dry contact) actuated by a small flying magnet on the 0.1 gallon needle. One pulse of the switch means one gallon has flowed through the meter. Once that was figured out, it was easy to test and commission the meter which works well and is very accurate.

I used this Watflow DN20 3/4" water meter to measure the output from my small garden well, and it’s been incredibly helpful. It provides an accurate reading of water usage, which has allowed me to better manage my well pump usage and make adjustments to conserve water. The pulse output feature adds versatility, especially for tracking usage over time with compatible systems. Installation was straightforward with the NPT couplings, and the meter feels durable and well-made. It’s a simple yet effective tool for monitoring water consumption in a garden or home setup. This meter is a great addition for anyone looking to track water usage efficiently. It’s reliable, easy to install, and perfect for optimizing water management. Highly recommend!

I just installed this ‘Watflow DN20 3/4" NPT Couplings Gallon Water Meter’ on my heat pump hot water heater. Mine has no pulse output. I wish it had.I tested the reading with the heater off, and filled a 500-gallon PP storage tank. Yep, 500 gallons. When the meter read 500 gallons, the tank was full. Good enough for me.I have not tested it with hot water, but I’m sure it will be close enough. I’m purchasing both a hot and a cold-water version with pulse outputs to tie in home automation system (HA).

This is being used in a seasonal building to monitor how much water we are using during the spring and summer. So far it has worked well with no leaks. It comes with unions so should be easy to take in and out in the winter when we have to disconnect the lines and drain them. It's a large sturdy unit and I am happy with its performance.
