This item came with clear instructions on how to properly fill the ice tray to get nice round cubes. The top and bottom of the tray Gold together securely. Ice came out in perfect circles and the tongs and freezer storage box were really nice additions to the set so you can store some cubes in the freezer while making more.

I got this for my husband to use for his whiskey and scotch drinks. It works perfect, easy to fill up and put in the freezer. The ice comes out easy from the mold and love that we can put it in a container to make sure we always have enough ice for other drinks.

This makes awesome ice balls using the provided instructions, some of the time. My actual rating is a 3.5. Amazon won't allow that rating. For the price it is a good value. I like not needing a separate funnel. If I owned the company, I would improve this product by adding some type of external clamping system to keep the mold halves held together tightly. I have had mostly good luck getting completely round ice balls, but sometimes the molds separate slightly and leave a thin layer of ice around the ice balls in the space between the mold halves. The loss of water causes the ice balls to have a flat spot on top. I would also make the molded rings that make the trays stackable, deeper. One of mine slid off the stack and broke the handle off when it hit the floor. There are a series of two tabs around the edge of the trays to hold the halves together. They seem to get weaker with time, making it harder to make perfectly round ice balls. If I were using ice balls in a business that being perfectly round mattered, I would probably try a different design. Since I don't care if there is a flat spot and I like being able to quickly make 12 ice balls at a time, this serves my needs.

Larger cubes last longer. The design is brilliant. I turn it over, put some weight with the palm of my hand over the silicone bottoms and they release onto the counter with little effort. If you fill it all the way to the top, there's a little more effort involved, but I can put about 4 of these bad boys in my Brumate 40oz hydration mug, add some Propel and run the RO water over it till full. It manages to melt the ice just about right so that with a little stirring the metal straw slips in the middle and I can screw the top on without much effort. It seems like the ice makers in today's latest rendition of fridges just don't make enough ice to accommodate much more than once of these 40 oz mugs at a time. I'm not inclined to spend $500 more for ice makers which are constantly plagued with cleaning and mold issues. These little trays are perfect. Love it.
