Easy to use for saddle hunting. If your looking to make the change from a prusik knot to this and you are not sure. Just do it.

Make sure you have an oval carabiner. This product isn’t compatible with any other style carabiners. Other than that it’s a great product.

I bought this to more easily adjust my lineman’s belt when ascending and descending the tree and it has worked perfectly for me. After many trips up and down trees the finish is still just as good as the day I bought it, and it functions as easily as advertised. The instructions for attaching to the rope were very straightforward, and I feel very safe using this device. Even so, I would recommend using a prusik above the Ropeman for redundancies sake

First off this thing worked good at first, I’ve only used it probably 10 times but today when I was using it, the side that is supposed to move Locked up on me and I was unable to use it while hunting. Not very happy with the durability of it, maybe I just got a bad one.

Just wrap your caribeaner with stealth tape. Offset caribeaners will work. You just have to open the gate and feed the gate itself through the eye of the ascender.
