Love the design and layout of the controller. Love there is a button to change the color of the controller but will take me some time to get used to it

got this controller for my girlfriend and she was unsure at first because its such a different feel than a normal ps4 controller, but she eventually got used to it. but after about 2 months it got such a terrible stick drift that it made some games become unplayable. its a fine option for short term use but with that price tag i was hoping for a long term option and i didnt get that at all

I ordered this controller to use on my Windows PC while I play games and for testing during game development. Given my setup where I swap between devices frequently, I prefer wired USB controllers that I can simply plug in or unplug quickly. Mucking around with wireless and Bluetooth paring is too time consuming. That said, this controller works great with both connection types. The devices can be connected using a wired connection, and it can use the XInput or DirectInput APIs to interface with the computer. I believe it defaults to the newer XInput API, which is preferred, although you can toggle between the modes by holding down the HOME button for 3 seconds. When connected using XInput, Windows identifies the device as a "Controller (XBOX 360 for Windows)". Some software I use to analyze devices shows it as an "XInput Gamepad", which is what I'd expect. As an XInput device, any games programmed to use this popular API will automatically understand the controller layout and not require players to manually bind buttons in games. When connected using DirectInput, Windows identifies the device as a "Wireless Controller", even though its connected using a cable. I generally prefer to avoid DirectInput connections, but I suppose they could be useful for older games that don't support the more modern XInput API.The device can also can be paired with a PC via Bluetooth. My device paired easily after pressing SHARE and holding down HOME for a few seconds. It shows up as a "Wireless Controller" in the Bluetooth settings panel. My software identified it as a "Sony DualShock 4" controller, so it should have all the functionality of the Sony device.Whether connected via USB cable or Bluetooth, all buttons appeared to be functional and responsive. The only buttons that couldn't be mapped in my software were the special HOME, TURBO, and LIGHT buttons. These buttons are not used directly in games, but instead used to modify the controller behavior. The LIGHT button, for example, cycles through various LED lighting schemes. I didn't test the programmable buttons at the bottom of the controller, since I never use those. The accordion foldout manual consists of 10 pages in English and 10 pages in Chinese, and it covers all the important features and provides instructions for using them. This includes pairing with Bluetooth and programming the programmable buttons.Overall, I really like this controller. It feels great in the hands, and I personally prefer the "Xbox" controller form factor over the "PS4", so I appreciate that this feels similar to the classic Xbox 360 controller.

My oldest played her video game for maybe a few hours but the controller itself didn’t last past 2 days. This is awful. The charging stopped altogether and then it just stopped working in all.

Let's get to the good first:I don't normally like RGB lights, but combined with the cracked design I think it's not so bad here, if you're in to RGB lights I think you might enjoy it.The sticks move smoothly and feel good, face buttons are oddly satisfying to press, which is a nice surprise. Options and share are WAY better than the awful ones on an official PS4 pad. Bumpers and triggers feel alright and have a nice set of bumps (reminds me of Braille) that give them a nice texture. Plus it charges via USB C like a modern device!Downsides:The D-Pad I have to describe as terrible. A good D-Pad has a decently high (but not too high) pivot points, so you can feel when you press a distinct direction. Usually with, if not an audible click, then a small tactile one. This pad's all mush. It feels like there's no pivot point at all and anytime you push a direction it just pushes the entire D-Pad down. If I hold to the right (even at the very tip) and move my thumb up and down slightly, I can move cursors or my character in that direction. While holding nothing but right. This is very bad and can cause a number of bad inputs, especially bad if you're trying to menu something quickly and your thumb isn't dead-on center of whichever direction you're pressing. If you don't use a D-Pad too much, this won't be an issue. But if you do... it's bad. It doesn't give you any FAULTY inputs or anything, so it's not literally broken, but it's just really inaccurate.Next, the back paddles are always a welcome addition (I always map them to left and right stick clicking, as it's far easier to do that than to click a stick, and you don't get that minor direction shift as the stick clicks) but these ones are also kinda mush. Not as bad as the D-Pad, but not great. There is an audible click, but not really a tactile one, it feels like the button isn't even really moving. It works but is hardly top-tier.Finally, I like the throw on the triggers, but they don't seem to depress to their fullest extent on a normal trigger pull. So you can... push them farther? It's like instead of the maximum pull being set when it hits plastic, there's a little squishy ball (I'm making an analogy of what it feels like, I have not opened the controller and am not claiming there is a literal squishy ball inside) that slows you down instead. It's really weird and while it hasn't caused me any issues so far, I don't like the feel. would greatly prefer a hard stop sooner.Anyway, I'd say this controller is pretty good. If D-Pad use isn't important to you and you like the look, you can do a lot worse than this.
