They call these things explorers, but I was able to utilize this tool to do a tremendous amount of inter-proximal periodontal decayed bone removal. No other tool could have done it. I need to buy another one because it does lose its metallurgic integrity when used off- label in this stressful manner and will begin to bend.

The handle is wider and allows better control when using the explorer. And it's not heavy and easy to handle..
