I have had up and down feelings regarding Halo since it first got introduced to me. I cannot tell you how much I love the first one. The first game was a cornerstone to the Halo franchise. So what can be said about Halo 4? The Pros: Multiplayer is well constructed and flows much like the play of Halo 3 which I enjoy with the added bonus of being able to select your loadouts, or classes for those Call of Duty fans. Start out is basic and tough to get going where there are not many options regarding your loadouts. Get a few levels under your belt and soon you will have the gadgets you need and want. The Campaign brings some different weapons and introduces the new enemies Master Chief faces. Overall fun to play through on any difficulty to get used to the controls and how each weapon works. The Cons: Touching back on the campaign it is time to give it a rest. I am sorry but they have been pushing campaign for too long and I am sick of having to struggle to follow it. As for multiplayer, some guns are quite overpowered and its tough when going up against some of those players. The touche to that I am sure is every game has overpowered weapons. I just don't find it right that I can sneak up behind someone, start laying into them and all they do is turn around and shoot me three times and I am the one that does not walk away. My biggest issue with Multiplayer is the ability to harm friendly vehicles. I am the type of person where I want to use the mantis or the ghost but if someone gets to it before me I shake it off and know I will get it a different game. Others, others start laying into the vehicle and blow it up on you so no one can use it. I wish that was not an option so the children who play cannot be as childish as they are.The console: I have been running off my PS3 for about a year or so now and had traded in my old Xbox 360 to get more games for my PS3. That was the best thing I could have done for myself because since then I have become much less biast on my opinions on either console because I have come to love them both. This Hard Drive is the best, I have so many GB free that I want to just throw a kitten in there to take up some space! Love it!!!! The LED lights even though it is just a different color is fantastic. The sound effects, I feel the open and close disk drive is much better than the power on and off. The power button for lack of better termonology is just obnoxious! Also, the flow of the system, though over the years it has changed immensly, seems to be fine tuned. I feel very comfortable navigating through the 360's menu options. Graphics and browsing is much easier than on the PS3 and love the Youtube app. The one thing I feel needs some work and I am not sure if this is on Microsofts side or Netflix, however, I find Netflix to be horribly put together. It is hard to navigate through with any assurance that you will get from point A to point B without any issues. I feel that is imoportant to place where Netflix is so big.Beware, the price has been jacked since I made the purchase I got it for a steal at just $349.99. Now I see it is coming close to $600.00. It is an outstanding system for the right price and unless you are a huge Halo finatic and NEED the Halo edition console I would not make the purchase for much over $400 at best. Probably cheaper to just buy a bigger hard drive, then get this just for the massive amount of storage space.

I had been a PC gamer (and I still am) for the past many years. I always thought consoles are weaker from the performance perspective, and of-course, they still are. But there are many things special about this Halo 4 console, that prompted me to buy. First off, its a beautiful looking console, with nice Halo 4 theme paint job. The main unit is aesthetically appealing. The controllers are also very good and easily the best looking.I played the first game of this franchise - halo combat evolved - on PC and was very impressed. I thoroughly enjoyed the universe of Halo because I have been a big sci-fi fan since my childhood. In-fact, it was my very first sci-fi game. But with the release of Halo 2, which was Vista only game, I became annoyed and didn't play it. When the Halo franchise became Xbox exclusive, I saw myself completely aloof from the franchise, until couple of weeks back, when I saw this beautiful Halo 4 console while searching for games in Amazon. It was a love at first sight. After looking at the contents that come for an affordable price of $350, I placed the order without any hesitation. And now, I find myself loving it every time when I look at it and every time when I turn it on.The bundle comes with a Xbox console, two wireless controllers along with AA batteries, a cheap use and throw headset, RCA connectors for audio and video, a power adapter and a standard edition of Halo 4 game. One thing that really annoyed me was that M$ wants me to buy a HDMI cable separately and included rca connectors. In this age of digital technology, who would be still using analog rca connectors? The setup was quick and easy. The user interface of the new xbox looks a lot like the Metro UI of Windows 8. About the Halo 4 game itself, I had very little first hand experience playing with a controller and so I thought FPS was going to be sloppy but I was wrong. The character was easily maneuverable. Being a hardcore FPS gamer, I started playing Halo 4 in legendary difficulty level on the first go. I was easily able to play through, which was a bit of a surprise to me. But in the end, it was a unique FPS experience. I especially loved looking though the transparent controller, the vibration motors spinning while I fired. The graphics are ok - could have been very good looking if the console had the latest GPU. The cutscenes are CG movies but well made. The character animations and facial expressions are very good. Gameplay is smooth and fluid. I cannot say anything about the story as I am yet to complete the game (I don't find too much leisure of late), but it has been good so far.At the end of the day, I felt that this Halo 4 Xbox is more than just a regular console. It is a product of elegant design and beauty to commemorate one of the best sci-fi gaming franchises. I have to admit that the Xbox experience is nice, and also the other entertainment stuff apart from gaming. The custom sounds while ejecting the DVD ROM and powering the console on, also adds to the uniqueness. I highly recommend to buy this, especially the folks who are buying xbox for the first time. And for those who are thinking about Xbox 720, I am pretty sure that Microsoft will not introduce it for at-least one and half or may be two years. But why waste that much time of your life, expecting? Enjoy what you have in hand now.
