I used this kit to do an acoustic/ electronic drum conversion. The kit quality is excellent. The finish is beautiful. The price is really good.I would definitely recommend the kit and the seller. Arrived in good shape and on time.

This kit is just the Kick, two small Tom-Toms, a Floor Tom and a Snare. I bought my wife a digital kit last year, but it lacked the "feel" of a real drum set. You have to purchase the cymbals, kick pedal and stands separately. I'll review those later, but they must be included when I review these other 5 pieces.First, the reviews were really good for this introductory kit. I watched many YouTube videos and read many Amazon reviews before settling on this. The quality is very, very good for the price, and the assembly is simple and easy to follow.Once you add the real cymbals, the game changes from a dull "thud" that you get when you strike a digital hi-hat an crash, to a real satisfying stainless steel ringing sound.Price was phenomenal for this level of quality. My wife is now more motivated to play since the set is the real deal.

Bought these after he decided he really liked drumming and was worth the investment. They sound way better, and are FAR more durable than the cheap intro seat we started with. He ABSOLUTELY loves the look and sound of these drums. Also far fewer head changes and no broken parts issues like the cheapo set.

I’ve played lots of drum kits. Owned some really expansive ones. These sound every bit as good for half the price or better. I use them for playing shows with my band and I love not having to worry about scratching/denting a cheaper kit but also not sacrificing the sound these beauties deliver. I may actually get another so I’m not constantly taking them apart for gigs. Well packaged but requires some assembly as they are in a small box for the size of the kit once put together. No cymbals or stands/pedals included but so worth the money!

I waited a couple months before writing this review for the Yamaha Stage Custom setI got the 10, 12, 14, with a 20" kick in raven black finish ( Go Ravens :D )I couldn't be happier with the purchase. I first played the drums with the Remo UT heads that came stock, and then later switched to Evans G2 batter heads and G1 resonant, combined with an E-Mad2 w/ stock Yamaha remo resonant bass drum head. The drums arrived in the original packaging which is a wonder of its own. Everything was very compact and well-packaged, and the hardware and drums were all in great, safe condition upon delivery. The bass drum had a slight bit of separation where its plies meet on one side, but that was not enough for me to send them back. Otherwise I still believe the drums to be "like new" as described. They are 100% birch drums and since 2014 Yamaha uses 6 x 1.1mm plies, so it is dense wood and relatively thick drum. Some would say these drums don't sing and are hard to pull any resonance or flavor out of, but I would disagree. With proper tuning and good heads these drums sound better than the many similarly-priced drum sets I have played. I think they sound great and the drums and hardware are manufactured really well and do not sacrifice quality. The hardware is the same hardware Yamaha uses for their premier, top-of-the-line kits and I think that shouldn't be left unsaid. There is good reason that Yamaha is a name that is seen all over the world in music, and I am a proud owner one of their kits!If I had to pick one thing negative - it would be toward the snare. It's perfectly fine and usable, and has 10 tuning rods (awesome), but if one was to invest in another really nice snare drum with a nice set of cymbals this kit is perfect for learning or playing events.

Great set. There is a mountain of material on what a great value this set is from Yamaha. I researched it carefully and you won't be disappointed -- if it arrives safely. The Honey Amber color looks more wood tone in the pictures, but it is a bright orange color. I wasn't expecting that and sent it back, but if you like orange, you'll love it. I now have different color (Cranberry Red) and love it. Yamaha does not package these well and Amazon does nothing to augment that poor packaging. A second set I ordered had to be sent back because two shells were cracked badly. The bearing edges of the bass drum and the floor tom ride on the bottom of the box without any extra padding other than the bottom of the cardboard box. For a $650 item you wonder that they don't add a little extra padding to the side of the box against which the bearing edges of two of the main drums sit. Check the box when it arrives and have the carrier note any damages to it, if you are there when it arrives. When you open the box -- take pictures of how it is packed in case you have to repack it. Check the bass drum and floor tom bearing edges carefully before unpacking the whole thing. They are the most likely to suffer damage. It says it is a two-person load to carry, but delivery companies did not heed that. The boxes are marked with arrows to remain upright, but the broken one arrived on it's side. Third time was the charm, paid the one day Fed Ex shipping because I thought it would be handled less and not get kicked around as much as going ground across the US. thus giving it a better chance to arrive safely. It did, but even it was delivered by just one guy -- the box looked a little beaten up, and in fact there is a tiny blemish on one of the bass drum rims, but it wasn't enough to send it back. It's set up and is beautiful and sounds beautiful. The one star taken off is for horrible packaging protection.
