This product is very poor! The bit shaft broke off on the first use. I'd recommend not purchasing!

Just trying to expand an existing hole. Material is 12gauge steel and hole is 7/8”. Trying to widen it to 1 1/4”. Bit kept taking very aggressive bites and jamming and before I was even able to increase it to 1” the bit snapped right off and broke.

Did exactly what I needed it to do and didn’t dull out. Put some good use on it and still works great!

This is exactly what I needed. I often drill holes in metal for attaching things such as casters through the sheet metal bottom of a cabinet, or to attach something to the side of it. Sometimes the hole is just a hair too small, or you need to replace something and need to move to a larger fastener size. Using this, you can incrementally increase the size of the hole. It only goes up to a 1/2" but for these purposes, I rarely need anything larger. I use a lot of 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" fasteners, but it's not often that I need anything larger. It came in a plastic slide together case, and was nice and sharp out of the box, cutting through metal easily, all for a fair price. I'm happy with it.

I got this to have a universal stepping bit. This is a well made hardened steel bit that has an innovative conical channel that acts like a a drill. This has sine steps which s great. I like that they print which each step size (diameter) is though I wish it was easier to read. The holes are common size (English units) from 1/4 inches to 3/4 inch.Overall the features, build quality, and usefulness of this is great.I highly recommend this for anyone needing a stepping bit.

This step drill bit has a 1/4" shaft, allowing it to fit into pretty much any drill. There are 13 step sizes from 1/8" to 1/2", each step increasing by 1/32".The steps are difficult to read. Not only is the label very small, it's printed inside one of the twists of the bit. If you know which step you're going to, you can just count the steps. However, it'd be nice to have more legible sizes printed.
