These are proper inserts, they cut well and do not break easily like the ones that come included with the threading bars that I see sold by other vendors.

Did over 25 parts, 1/2-13 thread one inch long in 316ss with a single point. Much improved insert life over the brittle ones that came with the holder and could only mannage to make two parts each tip.

These are very nice Tungsten Cobalt (made with powdered metals technology) inserts. I usually cut my threads with HSS, for tool and alloy steels I have a couple different tool holders that take diamond shaped inserts that work. I thought I had a holder for these when I ordered them, but I don't. I did try to modify a holder so I could use them to cut some 1 1/4 - 7 threads in a chunk of hard stainless boat shaft.. These are only rated for 8TPI to 48TPI (threads per inch) - tried anyway - got to a depth of 'bout 50 thousands and my tool holder bottomed out on work and broke a tip. Threads looked good before I killed them though.I'll be purchasing a tool holder for these soon - they're nice inserts and they're dirt cheap. At the time of this writing they're selling (with 10% coupon) for a a buck seventy a pop. Divide that by 3 that's 57 cents a tip. I'll still cut threads with HSS when I can, but these will be nice to have for the hard stuff.5 Stars for The DelitonGude 10Pcs 16ER AG60

Was looking for some carbide inserts for my tooling and came across these. Specifically, I needed something that could create threads and these blades were the answer. Seems like solid blades that produce a good finish. Fits into tooling as expected. Try them out.

These seem like perfectly serviceable inserts. I used them on plastic and they worked well. The entire box is roughly the same price that I usually pay for one insert, so even if they are pretty terrible they would still be a great deal.

First, I’ve been a machinist for 30+ years and have gotten used to paying upwards $20 per insert for the big name brands. I now cut some metal for hobbies in my retirement and can’t afford those prices. Getting a box of inserts for the price of one is a much better fit for my budget. I have only used these inserts on aluminum so far but the results are promising. I have an old atlas lathe and am cutting metric threads which means killing the power and winding the tool back between cuts. Because of this I am running the lathe very slow. Anyone who cuts aluminum knows this is a recipe for tip buildup and torn metal. Whatever the exact coating is on these inserts (PVD is a process, not a coating) seems very slick and I had no problems with tearing and produced very nice looking threads using a less than ideal process. Remains to be seen how they perform on harder materials.

I did not find anything to dislike with these inserts but I found lots to like. I don't a lot of threading, so using the the HSS bits I had in my tool box made sense. I decided to try these pre-made bits and using them on a fairly hard piece of shafting steel and the results were great. I found them to to cut cleaner, cut better and run cooler. The photo is a test piece that has not been cleaned up after threading and it looks so much better than what I usually get I don't think I will be using HSS bits anymore.

This appears to be a good threading insert with ground and sharp cutting edges. It fits well in the holder. However the PCVD coating is questionable. The seller does not provide any information about it and Google search does not produce any results. So this insert has to be treated like having no coating at all. It is unacceptable. The box has a label with the recommended cutting speeds for steel, stainless steel and cast iron. However such information is of limited use for a threading tool, where high cutting speeds are often not possible.
